How NOT to behave!

They both involve giving up something dear to us all, one money and the other the
Sadly I have just had to cut one down I won't go into anymore detail, sure you understand, it's not in anyones interest. Occupational hazard for me.

nortirascal Posted May 20, 2010
Mate, no worries for me. I've seen and dispatched enough of my own in my time, occupational hazard of being in the armed forces Just the tedium of going to Coroners court again and having to explain my pragmatism to a bunch of civvies.
I was just having a + just now watching SOCO take pics when the Duty Gov turned up Gave me a bit of an 'old fashioned look'

Don't worry- it'll soon wash over, and you will move on!!!If its any consolation- got issues at my practice too!! (why is nothing simple!)-mainly revolves around the man in charge!
Thinking of leaving place I'm in- not too concerned, as plenty of other jobs around!!- if you are prepared to travel-(like the White Van Man!)-you can get work anywhere in the NHS (for example, Liverpool are crying out for out of hours GPs)
Have a good weekend!!! I'm working in sunny Blackpool both days!

Ok, Bro. Not sure where you were going with that one work again? Good job you're going to Blackpool, no fighting and C&R-ing You're not me, remember. That's How NOT to behave!
You get asked to leave the Pub by the Landlord or he'll call the police. Not a good career move, so we left, even though they started it

Joyika Posted May 22, 2010
This is the thing- some people do what they want, as they have nothing to lose (no job, no money, no aspirations!)
the rest of us, who work hard, don't want to sully our reputations.
pub brawls get started by nutters!-and they blame the other guy

nortirascal Posted May 22, 2010
They also find out picking on the baldy old guy doesn't work either. "Show me your love face, sonny" Tweek, ow!

The worried well... Yes...
My ex who had mood swings, was diagnosed as depressed, treated as depressed and otherwise fobbed off by the docs for years (what's that, you get an irregular heartbeat? It's just stress, try to relax) was two weeks ago rushed to hospital after suffering a 'funny turn' which worried him. they took bloods this time and ran a couple of tests.
He was rung two days later by his doctor at 6pm saying go to hospital, I've got a bed arranged for you, you could drop dead any minute.
Turns out his 'depression and mood swings' was due to having had type 2 diabetes for some considerable period of time, undiagnosed and his funny turn along with previous wobbles, 'anxiety attacks' etc. were actually small to middling heart attacks.
And he'd been treated like the worried well for years.
I also have a good friend who had cancer, but her doctor insisted for years that it was a benign growth and there was nothing wrong with her. It's now spread to other parts of her body, her stomach for one, is manageable but not treatable as such and will most likely be the cause of her death in the future, be it near or far. She nearly died at christmas and has gone from being a big healthy farm girl to a tiny slip of a thing with no strength, hardly any appetite...
Both of them got apologies. Which is nice.
I know these things are impossible to always catch, but not everyone who comes in with a small niggle is imagining it, sometimes it's taken them months to think it's bad enough to tell anyone. Even when they've been about to drop dead on more than one occasion.

All our depressed patients get a full set of bloods (including fasting glucose- which would detect diabetes, and thyroid tests, and a full blood count-which could pick up a malignancy)-before being labelled as depressed!!
After all that- (and other tests, eg ECG, total body CT + other radioactive imaging)- if they are still mad, bad, sad or just from Burnley- I think its safe to assume its all supra-tentorial, or coming from their minds!
Oh well- depression is common I'm afraid

I saw a larger gentleman in a restaurant, and he had no teeth- - he did not have dentures, - surely him being such a size is witchcraft!!!
He was having soup by the way
Am off to the Preston Marriot hotel today- to meet a friend!!!-I've never been before, so should be an adventure

Joyika Posted Jun 1, 2010

You're telling me- I'm from this neck of the woods, (Rochdale/ Bury in Lanc)- we are all crackers.
That being said Manchester Uni is v good- they split the atom, and have apparently the best nutrition unit, cancer research and largest childrens hospital (recent development) in the country!!!
The football ain't bad in the North West either!!!
