So, how about a plan?
Do we want to meet in the morning, afternoon or evening?
Do we want to visit anything, or just head straight to the pub?
Are we going to assume a late-night club session (I might have to bail out of that one as I have super-sensitive ears) or just see how the night takes us?
Personally as it's not that close a trip for me I'd rather try to make a day of it rather than just the evening. My attendance isn't guarenteed though, so don't decide anything on my account!

Well, I'm going to have a hangover I know that much, so I shouldn't imagine i'll be worth seeing before 2 or 3pm...
It sort of depends on the weather and what people want to do and see.
Saturday nights I like to be at the Hatchet for a drink and a boogie but it gets pretty busy and frenetic, so I'm more than happy to settle in somewhere quieter where we can all sit n chat till they decide to close. If some want to finish early and a few others want to party, I can take us somewhere where we can have a boogie. Probably Mr Wolfs.
So... Any ideas on what people would like to see or do or a general feel for what people fancy doing? February gets chilly but we could always go for a walk over the suspension bridge, a wander up to the downs for a lovely view down the gorge over the bridge and up the river out to avonmouth.
There's museums, bowling alleys, cinemas, just a wander around the docks and town (not big, our city centre's pretty small really) will throw up some fab old architecture and stuff worth looking at...

If people haven't ever seen it before then they really ought to see the Suspension Bridge. I could go there every week it is so spectacular - but not for sufferers of vertigo.

I don know many pubs in bristol. I go to the ones my friends go to and perhaps venture to others on the odd occasion I'm with someone and we're alone together - if you know what I mean .
I'm up for a nice little snug up by the bridge. An afternoon wander over the bridge (or to it for the sufferers!) and perhaps a slide down the rock slide if it's dry and I reckon we'll be needing warm soup and cold beer... And the Bristol Museum's not far if people fancy some of that before settling into a pub...

Ooo yeh, the Brisol Suspension bridge... Last time I was up that way; We were on a course; just near the suspension bridge I think is the 'centre' place we were staying at and where the course was... Think in a 'posh' bit of town apparently... quite an old bit I seem to recall... Err Clifton? If I remember correctly.. which I might not we were pished all the time on that course... As I recall....
We'd go over the supension bridge... then past a little cafe/resturant bit, and then there was a really nice traditional pub... wooden floors, and lots of 'local accents' (which strangely my accent from the other side of the country doesn't exactly match, but doesn't sound too differnt...) Seem to recall a 'hip trendy' pub near the nice one (that we acidentially got in a couple of times)
Oo the suspension bridge is great... if you stand on teh side bit and climb up a bit, you can feel the whole bridge vibrating through the err suspendy bits... I got told off for climbing up that time mind... and my balance isn't that* good when I'm sober let alone drunk

Doubt you'll get to do much climbing these days. There's lots of fencing now, too many suicides...

There's some netting (I think it's maybe more for landslips than people) but not much to catch you. People seem to tend to land on the cycle track or the road tunnel depending on which end they jump from
It's hard to climb the sides now they have overhanging fencing.

Oh bring it. Someone decided that a city built on and in a bowl of steep hills would be a good place to become the UK's 'cycling city'.
When in rome or something?

Well the pub I was talking about is called "The White Heart" and is attached to the Avon Gorge Hotel.
Probably worth going for a pint to admire the view and then decant into better places in Clifton or on Park Street I reckon!

I bow to those with superior pub knowledge! I suppose we could always get out a copy of the Bible* and see what's around.

Do some recon and report back!!!
And no, I meant 'a' as in a drink of/containing a shot or two of said beverage.
would have sufficed

I drink a shot (or two, depends who's buying!) and mixer in about the time it takes most people to drink a pint, so it's pretty equal. When I'm on a budget I drinka bottle of pear cider to every pint and a half or so?
Unless I'm dancing and chatting a lot in which case I drink MUCH less!
