CHRISTMAS IS COMING!
nortirascal Posted Nov 29, 2008
Re: 258 thanks Mistadrong, I've put you straight on my friends list for that one. I do love Spain
I had an email from profesora today (no names, no pack drill) Not feliz at the moment so I'm going to spend some time on MSN with her
Why do i always feel it's rude to put 'RE' what ever post number sometimes I feel it loses the cotinuity and natural developement of the thread?
In that vein then, afor I go, Christmas and 'filling' will be on my agenda, if I'm not in Madrid for the procession of saints.<cheerup
Alas I already have been told I have to work over Christmas , but at least it's a 4* star hotel I'll be staying at in Croydon
They're bound to have parties or I'll blame 2legs

would that be default as in 'judgement by default' or 'win by default'
or default as in 'standard settings'?

With a whole web out there you should find something that would make a nice gift 2legs.
Try googling the words Xmas gift (for him or her) and see what happens.
I was going to answer Pierce's query but I've forgotten what he said.
Oh, I remember. Default setting.

i was only guessing because i read 'default' in another context and was stumped because it made no sense to me whatsoever. then i looked it up and lo and behold, it really has very different meanings
it doesn't make it any easier for us foreigners to understand english
i blame 2legs

But... but... I don't know waht they'd want..... I have to buy something for a lady too, which I'm not good at.... a bottle of whisky or aftershave or socks might work for my Brother or Dad but not for Dads' GF actually tha gives me an idea

a few years ago another hootooer told us she gave all her relatives and friends batteries wrapped with a piece of paper that read 'gifts not included'

That'd suit me, I never seem to have batterys for anything.... I was hunting about today for a half dozen packs of AAA batterys that I know* I had ages and ages back, but never had a use for... until now and of course one now can't find the damn things
till no luck on the present buying front ... I oughta try and get them soon or it'll be too late to get things delivered easily

Yarreau Posted Dec 3, 2008
Just google "Amerikaner" (do a picture search), and you'll see plenty of them. I once gave an entire seventh grade in an ultra-religious American middle school alcohol poisoning with a batch of these...
Pierce is appearantly talking about "Weinbrandbohnen", which are slightly curved, brandy-filled chocolates.
Hmmm... I ... want ... ... NOW!
