The Brazilian one, right? I thought that was one of the funniest!
It's all about a college football game, Mazin! It's rivalry week in college football here in the US. One of the biggest rivalries is between Ohio State University and the University of Michigan. Ohio State is ranked #1 and Michigan is ranked #2 so it's an even bigger deal than usual.

Thanks for making me late for work this morning, Shea .... I was too busy reading your wicked jokes to notice the time.
"At Iowa it takes none. There's no electricity in Iowa"
We're scheduled to get it next year in Ohio!

Yay! I messed up AW's day!
I used a hair dryer in Ohio, so there *must* be electricity!
Oh, and the Buckeyes won, so my jokes must have worked!

Not only did your jokes work, but they seem to have made a few people rich as well....

In case that's no longer viewable, this is what it said...
"The score for the Buckeyes game may have been extra lucky for some people.
There was an interesting twist or coincidence in the score for Saturday's winning lottery numbers.
The winning score for the game was Ohio State 42 to 39. NewsChannel5 is the Ohio Lottery station, and after the game, the numbers were chosen at the station for the Pick 4 drawing.
The winning numbers were: 4, 2, 3, 9 -- the same as the score.
The lottery paid out about $2.19 million in winnings.
The lottery said the odds of the numbers turning up in that combination were 10,000 to 1.
The game ended at 7:13 p.m. and the winning numbers were drawn at 7:45 p.m."
Yep, this was all Shea's doing.... she's

I heard a piece about the game on Morning Edition today. They said that until former Michigan coach Schembechler died on Friday, there was going to be a 'Hate Michigan' rally in Ohio. That seems a bit... harsh. Glad to hear that they renamed it 'Beat Michigan' following his demise.

Any hatred expressed is purely meant in fun, Gosho.
It doesn't happen often, but on rare occasions, people from Michigan actually marry people from Ohio. Their offspring are considered mutant halfbreeds and they are shunned, hunted down by torch-bearing mobs, dragged through the streets, then burned at the stake.
Other than that, we get along really well.

Hello Shea!
No, just keeping the conversation as high as possible on my list until I have the time to sit and read the whole blog! Some of those jokes translate seamlessly to British "stuff", I just don't want to lose it down my list.
Are you well, and happy? I hope so. Things go on much the same here, but nothing to complain about.
Take care <icecream> for you

I figured you were bookmarking ... just thought I'd poke a little fun!
I'm well and happy! Things have been a little rough lately, but it looks like everyone and everything are going to be okay, so I'm relatively stress-free for the first time in a while! I hope things are going better with you!

You poke away, Shea - enjoy!!
Glad all is well with you.
But I'm off to bed now, got to be up in 5 hours for work - I suppose it's only early evening for you, isn't it, or even late afternoon.
Take care

Hi Shea and TJ.
When I woke up this morning and heard that THE GAME HAD BEEN WON BY (????), I immediately thought of you two and hoped that the results were what you wanted!!
I have been very busy watching Rugby all weekend. The six Nations Tournament. For the first time in my life I witnessed a clean game. That was the one in Rome between Italy and France. There are new rules about the scrum and the ref obviously knew the rules very well because there was not ONE SINGLE SERIOUS INJURY.
However, the game between both England and Scotland on Saturday, and the game between Ireland and Wales yesterday were "fight to the finish" ones with even the commentators practically tackling one another!!. It is such a super game when played in a non-vengeful spirit. One poor guy played with his face covered in blood. Eventually the ref saw it and he was led off the field Apparently he had a huge gash from the top of his head down the left side of his cheek. However, after many stitches were put in, both inside and out,(wonder what that means) he returned, plus a scrum cap and played to the end of the game.
I wonder if people play Rugby in Europe instead of going to war?? That would be better I am sure!!
Well after this philosophising I must get on with my normal tasks. I wonder if this year 2007, will be the one that we meet? Or would you come over next year for my 80th birthday - providing the good Lord decides I am still of use to Him.
Fond
