Advice on GuideML

As most of you know I am re-designing my personal space, ready for when I officially go 'live' welcoming aces smiley - biggrin.

I need a little bit of advice please. I have put pictures on my space which are out of h2g2 picture library. My aim is to put some kind of link in so that the person viewing, can click on that picture e.g. the tree one, and get a guide entry up on a subject the picture is about e.g. trees.

Can this be done? If so, how and where do I need to put the link?

Thank you smiley - cheers

Strimming Chaos

How many of you use Electric, Battery or Petrol Strimmers in your garden? I have an electric 'B***k and D***er' type, the third one in the last 4 years (different make each time).

It is my job to strim the edges of the lawn, borders and around the chimney pots, clothes line posts etc... I do the job every couple of weeks during the summer time and once a month this time of year smiley - smiley.

The problem I have is the strimmer line breaking, this one is supposed to be automatic feed, but it usually does not work or it sends out too much at once, causing horrible grinding noises smiley - grr.

The first strimmer I had just died, the second one burnt out........I thought I was doing right to squirt some WD40 in the vent holes thinking it would lubricate the motor smiley - silly. It lubricated it that much, the motor burnt out!.

This third one I have is okay apart from the line breakage, and that I have to manually pull the line out sometimes, which is a pain as it is a double one.

I have test driven a petrol one when I first had my allotment and they are good. I was that enthusiastic I strimmed the whole of the over-grown plot in a day, the vibrations causing my arm and hand shake for a few days after, I couldn't even pick up a cup without spilling it everywhere smiley - yikes.

Does anyone wear goggles when strimming? I used to, but now I wear glasses I don't tend to bother. Goggles always steam up on me to the point where I am wondering whether I am strimming the grass or my shoes smiley - laugh.

My Piccy's

Hello Everyone smiley - smiley,

It has been a long time since I have put a journal entry up so I thought I would give it a go smiley - ok.

I know that a lot of you have been eager to see pictures of my allotment and garden so I have finally got around to putting them onto Flikr smiley - biggrin.

I didn't take many last year, but as I now have a better camera I will be taking photo's and so all my friends on h2g2 can have a look smiley - smiley.

Well, I will put the link in and keep my fingers crossed that it works smiley - ok.

If any of you know the name of my Orchids could you please let me know, it has gone out of my head and cannot find it in my Horticulture books smiley - erm.

Right here goes, take care everyone, Nigel smiley - cheers.

Just tried clicking on the link myself and it does not work. If you copy and paste the full address into your address box (top of screen) then it should work that way.

My Anxiety Management Course

Hello, Everyone smiley - cheers

As promised, I thought I would tell you how this morning went smiley - ok.

smiley - bluelight I got at the clinic at 9.50 and the course was due to start at ten. I thought that I got the wrong day at first because nobody came until dead on 10.00 smiley - headhurts. I signed in but forgot to tell the receptionist I was there, so I had to go back and tell her that I wasn't sitting in the reception area for my health smiley - biggrin. Well, I was but its a figure of speech smiley - sorry.

At 10.00 am my mental health nurse and his assistant led us down the corridors to a classroom building which was the art and craft room smiley - run. There were about 6 of us which apparently was terrible, there should have been at least double that smiley - grr.

Anyway, we were told about the course and given a sheet all about Breathing Exercises. We were then talked through about what is anxiety, and given a diary sheet to keep to write down how we are feeling each day and after doing the breathing exercises smiley - zzz. Also, a copy of the notes which was talked through during the 40 minute session.

I have done the course before but only as a one-to-one basis. The group session was okay, everybody was quite quiet being the first one smiley - bigeyes.

I did struggle and felt quite panicky but glad I went and will keep pushing myself to go in the next 6 Mondays. It is difficult because I struggle to think and talk to people, the words just won't come out smiley - headhurts. Of course I am fine once I get to know the person and start to feel safe.

Once I get to know someone then I can't stop talking, Websailer will confirm that one smiley - run.

After the course, I went into the day centre for a smiley - tea and a game of pool. I know the clinic well because of going for regular treatment and the day centre smiley - ok.

Anyway, will keep you informed about how the breathing exercises are going and the diary.

Take care smiley - hugsmiley - hug.
Nigel smiley - applause.
