Advice on GuideML
Nigel *ACE* Posted Apr 8, 2008
Thanks ITIWBS .
I have been working on my space the last couple of days, there are still some more links to put in so that all the pictures do something when you click onto them. I have worked out the colour codes and managed to put a 'Marquee' at the top of my page.
Does anybody know why my Marquee keeps getting stuck? It scrolls a little way across the page, then stops and will not move again . I wouldn't mind but it does not display all of the words I have put onto it.
This is the GuideML I put in to make it work:
Nice to see you
Me saying that, I have just gone back to my space to get the info and it worked fine. Perhaps, it is because the site gets busy and it doesn't have the memory to work properly?
If you could have a look and let me know if it behaves for you, I will be grateful .
Thank you
Nigel
P.S. If there are any recommendations on my space, if you think something needs adjusting etc..... then I will be grateful for any idea's

hi nigel
-
on the normal pc, have you had any temp glitches, like the page as scrolled stuck and them moved
-
if so that could be why the mark is sticking.
-
as im on the digi at the time, and wont be at the cyber for another hour at least, i can see the the full page.
-
if you look on the mark a guide i think there is a few ways to attach the codes. jim

Thanks Jim .
I have a mac computer. It is one of the more recent imac's which are great but do tend to get a bit warm. Everything is built into the back of the screen so no separate box. I do know that this newer type of imac, they have put an extra fan inside because of 'over-heating' problems which has done the trick in the way as they do not over-heat now. They still get very warm though and if I put my hand at the back, I can feel the heat coming out of the vents .
Perhaps that does explain the stuck marquee. It is fine if I go straight to it when first logging on, but slows down when I have been on the computer for a while. A bit like me .
Take care.
Nigel

Still almost all at sea myself, which is why I've been following this. Though I've roughed in a "Personal Space" covering page, its far from finished and there's quite a lot I need to do with it I haven't had time to (and am not completely sure yet how to do).

Hi Jim ,
I have put in a few links to the pictures which seem to be working. The picture at the very bottom of the screen should be working, directing to Websailer's Space. Also, a few more are now active.
I am getting there slowly, its just finding suitable entry's to connect to the picture.
Thanks Jim.

hi nigel
-
this is a simple way to do a picture
-
-
this gives you the pic, as it is.
-
if you want to make it larger or smaller, you add inbetween
-
HEIGHT='100' WIDTH='100'
-
the '100' can be any, ie 50 or 200.and so on.
-
the 'free' can be center, left or right.
-
it makes it easier to link a picture.
-
if it a jpg. its a diff code, i have one on my space, the buildings.(not linked. jim
