Well if they offer you some fabulous amount of money why not take it. You could do stuff you've always wanted to do but never had the time for. Just don't blow it all at once!

True. 'Tis a problem.
I remember hearing od a guy who won the jackpot in the lottery and took all his friends and family on holiday. When he came back he'dmore in the bank tthan when he left. He'd spent only what he got as interest. Maybe if you've enough, you can do that.

Yup. An elderly couple I know retired and took a cash lump sum and invested it then lived off the interest, which was very wise. the only thing they bought was a second hand car.
Anyway, the bosses did say we'd know by end of October, then November, at least before Christmas. Now it looks like April which is the beginning of the financial year, so who knows what the hell is going on.
They will cut out our night shifts, which is a big chunk of salary.

Sounds like they don't know what they're doing. Nice and reassuring, isn't it?

Oh I think they know, they just don't want to tell us. It would be in their own interests to clear us out so that the books are clear and they can see what staff and budget they have left. It's just that they don't want us to know. It's worse than MI5 around here.
Anyway enough of my moans, how's yourself?

Yup, flipping freezing.
Hate the cold, it makes my bones ache. Especially where I've had the knee replacement operations.

NPY Posted Nov 27, 2005
Oooo. Cold doesn't help, I'm sure. Just make sure you wrsp up and don't go outside unless it's vital.

Sorry meant to ask., Have you got a new job yet, as the other one was such a flop.?
Liquid's Guestbook
NPY Posted Dec 1, 2005
No, no new job. I'm still in the place I was before the horrible job, as I was just relief there, so it's not so bad. But hey...a job'll come up at the right time.
Well warmer would be good. I'm sure it'll get warmer around March, but it would be nice not to be so cold in the meantime.

It's a job that will bring in money while you search for something better. At least you've got momey coming in.

True. And it's not a bad place either. Very nice people.
Used to work on the till in a supermarket. Not good. Fine for a student job and to pay for driving lessons, but not long term. And some of the customers were *so* rude.

Yup I know.I once did a part time job as a supervisor in a produce department of a mega superstore called ASDA. Customers are a strange breed of people.

NPY Posted Dec 20, 2005
You have Asda too! We've only just got one here. Opened a couple of months ago.
Glad to know customers are the same everywhere. I never could decide who was more annoying - the ones who never said a word or the wones that comented on what a cold/warm/windy day it was.

We had this elderly man who came in and boasted he and his wife were Asda fans and made it a point of visiting as many as they could surrounding the M25 motorway. I just cannot believe people do that sort of thing.but they do.

Sorry got kicked out with the message server too busy.
Yup very sad, but I suppose they were retired and had nothing else to do. It was better than standing on street corners and fighting, I guess
One lady did bring my assistant and I a piece of home made banana cake once.

Aww that's kinda nice.
Well I suppose there are worse things to be doing than to be going to Asda, but I'm sure they could do something better too.
