Well if they are like most leeches salt would disintegrate them. I'd ask evilclaw but he seems to be out and away for the time being. Hmm...

I had one of thosde, but it died because I never figured out a routine for watering it. 
I also killed a philodendron. Someday I will see how long it takes to kill a cactus.

Oh those? Those die if you water them too much, I heard.
Paul that black thumb of yours, it can be a green thumb for mold.
I found conditions that are bad for plants, can be excellent for fungi.
