Pierre de la Mer ~ sometimes slightly worried but never panicking ~ Posted Feb 13, 2007
speaking of ducks, it's been a while since i last had "canard a l'orange"

How about a little of Monty Python's "Mallard Fizz" ...or would you prefer something with a little less duck in it?

cunard took over the white star line in 1934 - long after titanic had sunk - and a canard is french for 'duck'. i hope this answers your question

Cunard should change their name to Canard in that case, as ducks don't sink, but float in water. And if the ship weighs as much as a duck, it is not a

Where did all these cans of roast duck come from?
I am unable to do either very well (swim or walk), which probably has something to do with my complete lack of co-ordination.
BTW Apolobogies for my abscess (again). I had some grumpy-inducing news re last year's surgery and have had my nose buried in maths course work again. Then, to add to my grumpiness, my local area has been minus its mains gas supply and subsequently suffered intermittent electricity cuts since last Monday. As well as the central heating, my cooker and the downstairs hot water supply use gas, so things were rather tedious, to say the least.
Apparently, the local substations couldn't cope with additional demand for electricity after the gas supplies were lost. Thankfully our gas supply was restored yesterday evening.
It's amazing how much happier having central heating and warm can make one feel.
Good luck with the pub and things generally Linus.
WR the next time you receive an illegible email from me (more illegible than is usual that is!), please let me know, as I have what appears to be some sort of glitch in Outlook Express on my laptop and I will be able to resend messages via Word.
How are you adjusting to life as a granddad?
Sho. You are always welcome to drop by but will have to warn the gruesomes that my daughter is at uni now, so may not be here. Mind you, I had an unexpected flying visit from her last week, just as we lost our gas supplies, which makes me wonder whether to two incidents are somehow related?

Grandad?....
Yep, you know you're over the hill when the "pretty little things in tight pants and strappy tops" that are usually so keen to get a pillion ride on a bike come up to you flashing teeth and nipples and say:
"Excuse me Sir, do you know somebody nice that could give me a ride on a bike?"
