No, but there is one across the street.

Sorry, I didn't know who Rob was. Are you across from NASA?

So! who pays the ferryman ?

Post 206

Baron Grim

Nope. I'm AT NASA (JSC). smiley - rocket

Across the street is Space Center Houston, the official visitors center for JSC. That's where the Space Shuttle Consolationsmiley - star is on permanent display.

smiley - starWhen they were divvying up the retired Shuttle fleet, Houston only got a trainer mock-up, the Independence. New York, DC, Los Angeles and Cape Kennedy got the actual Shuttles. Many local folks felt slighted that even though most of the Manned Space program is based in Houston, we were given a mock-up trainer as almost an afterthought.

Does the mock-up go anywhere? if not, then at least you get to have it with you always. if it were in space, you wouldn't have it. smiley - smiley

Hello, folks.
Our friend is now on iron tabs due to a low hemoglobin count, and is awaiting clearance for a TURP. Also, he is still having issues with his medical coverage, which charges him now for specs and dentistry.smiley - sigh

Sounds like Doctors never a stright answer

Doctors aren't gods. If no one else has an answer, is it fair to expect one from doctors?

The best test of medical accomplishment is whether people are even still alive in their eighties and nineties, which many of them are. The diseases of old age may be more common than they used to be, precisely because there are more people for them to afflict.

Fair points, paulh smiley - ok

A lot of people claim they have a lot of answers. Even betters than what doctors have!
In particular when doctors have none.
I for one would like doctors to have better ones.

But you are right, doctors are not gods and neither they nor we know everything there is to know yet.

From what I've read, an important part of the education of doctors has to do with studying the frail elderly. There is much to learn about how people survive on the edge.
