Ah! Yes... Well

Seems the ward made an error. They thought it was going to be a different operation for Neal, and gathered the wrong surgical team together.

The phase that should have been done today will now take place on Wednesday instead.

Due to our moving home, I will be offline until at least Friday afternoon. Hubby says he will try and find the dongle for the laptop, so I can hopefully update you all on Neal's progress.

Hi guys. Long time no speak i know and I'm sorry for that.

Update for Neal. He is getting depressed. He is such a long way from home right now and he misses his daughter really badly. (I know he misses me too but his daughter misses daddy).

Neal didn't have his op on Sunday, they got it wrong. They also got a few other things wrong:

1. Someone woke him up by touching his leg. his leg?! Jeez...talk about setting some one up to space without any need for jet fuel.

2. They haven't changes his bandages for nearly a week now.

3. They didn't even give him any cuttlery for him to eat his tea with tonight. When he finally got some, his tea was cold

As I am a legal secretary in a personal injury firm of solicitors I called a medico legal expert whom we use. I told him Neal is part of Bupa, he said not to use bupa yet and to use them when Neal needs his rehabilitation. He also said that for Neal's sanity we need to get him up north as soon as possible as being so far away from everyone is not doing him any good.

I called the ITU department today (they invited me to do so if I had any concerns) and I went through everything with them. They were great when Neal was in their care but although I didn't expect the same level of care when he got moved wards, I certainly expected better house keeping! They were going to send an outreach team out to see him to ensure all is ok.

I've also put the wheels in motion for Neal to be moved up nearer to me. Apparently the Countess of Chester has an excellent orthopaedic department, one of the best in the area, so have managed to convince Neal that the COCH is better than Arrowe Park (rightly or wrongly).

I spoke to Neal a short while ago and he said that a few people have been to see him and that it could take 48 hours before he is transferred up.

Will update you guys more as and when I know any more.

He is lucky to have you, so on the ball VV. That is dreadful, had similar problems with my husband.

At least the wrong team assembled didn't get to DO anything!!

I do hope he gets moved soon, to a better place nearer you where you can give them if they mess up.

I have been away for a while so know of no spates. But it never used to be like that, not when I first joined. We were we friends. ASlright there was the odd moment, but we got together and made things up and remained friends.
