h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Unfortunately, I'm too far away to make it for the funeral. I do hope that those of you who do attend will share with those of us who can't afterward. I'll be there in spirit.

I've been offline for a couple of days. This is such sad news. Terri and I weren't well acquainted, so I don't have any particular stories about her to relate. I send my sympathy to Peter and to Terri's family and her many friends here on h2g2.

Same as Psychocandy, I can't make it to the funeral, but I will be thinking of Terri, Peter and Yoda on Thursday, especially around 1pm French time.

I am not among those lucky enough to have met Terri, but her tag was one of the first things that caught my eye (and my imagination) when I first started by own adventures in Hootooland.

I shall be thinking of everyone on Thursday at midday

what a terrible shock. Poor Peter .
Sleep well Terri and be at peace .Your humour will be sadly missed .A new star is in the sky but a shadow fell on earth when you passed.

Might i make a suggestion.
Unless i am mistaken and i have checked her Facebook page, i believe she will be buried on her Birthday, she would have been 55.
can we all raise a glass, or even a cup of tea, in her general direction at some point on Thursday, that way we are united in spirit, if not in body.

My plane reaches Dublin at 9.30... I'll gladly share petrol money, but can also get the train.

And yes, I think it will be her birthday. I was at her birthday party last September. It feels like I was only just there.

Her birthday was the 23rd, the day after mine.

Thanks for your lovely offer, Val! I admit, it would be nice to have some company for the journey, but I'll stick to my first arrangement, as my health is dicey and I want to be sure that I can do everything on Thursday. I was all set to stay in a B&B, but Peter has offered to let me stay at his place on Wednesday night, and doesn't seem to have a problem with that. I might ask you about Thursday night when I see you, but it all depends on what everyone's plans are.

I don't suppose anyone knows whether this is a formal occasion or a hippie-attire occasion?

peter will probably be very glad of the company on wednesday night. he offered to have me stay too but i have to be back for the kids.

i would say the attire is anything goes.

a big jumper knitted out of 50 different colours and types of wool would be ideal, but i dont have one of those.
