I brought candles to w*rk today, but due to security reasons they were not to be lit

I lit a virtual one instead and raise for her birthday.

I just heard the very sad news of Terri's passing and wanted to pay my respects and pass on my condolences.

Although we didn't speak a great deal, I was a huge admirer. Particularly of the way in which she dealt with some pretty grim times and experiences with indomitable humour and strength of character rarely encountered.
I'm so glad that her last year or so was spent in a place and with someone that gave her the happiness, love and warmth she richly deserved. The world is a much sorrier place without her.

Once met, never forgotten.

just a quick update. the funeral was really beautiful. Some lovely words were said by those who knew her well, and she is resting in the most beautiful place on a hill by a 500 year old church,
peter was very touched that so many people were downing tools to toast her at midday.
you were all there in spirit and i think he felt that.

it was a very sad day, but in a lot of ways a celebration of the life of a very brave, loving and beautiful woman.

Dear Terri,

You've had all of your happy returns, but you would have loved the birthday party Peter threw for you today. The Dancing Priest was there, along with lots of people who love you, and Yoda stole the show several times. There was cake, and an accordionist, and lots of stories told about you.

Fundamentallyflawed: I haven't been on herein years either. I remember you.

Happy Birthday, Terri I raised a new bottle of rose wine at bang on midday today and got some very odd looks - in the frozen veggie aisle in Tesco - she'd have chuckled at that.
Be well, lovely lady and get that Heavenly Hootoo party started for us, we'll all be joining you soon enough.

I toasted Terri with a little glass of last night. Aye Bee, thank you for the message describing the funeral. I'll be responding soon. It sounded like the sort of gathering she would have loved, as does the birthday celebration. I wish I could have been there.

This evening eventually I found the time to read through all the hootoo messages you kindly sent me the link for. It made me very happy to read how important she had been for many members. Terri, in her black moments, often complained that with her death she will leave no trace on this earth; she has no children, and nobody will remember her. I believe she was wrong there. She did make a major impact on this earth; certainly on my life, but apparently on many others too.
