MMF - have you been reading 'The Naked Civil Servant'? I seem to recall Quentin Crisp writing that after three or four years, the dust doesn't get any worse.

No, it was from a sampler my Mum was given by a neighbour, after someone complained about the dust on Mum's bookcase!

Don't know where the quote originally came from.

Right, that's my washing up done. The garbage bins have been put out as well. But , my stove needs a good cleaning. That will be a job for tomorrow, as I will need to buy one can of Mister Muscle and six cans of , for medicinal purposes...

Shower time now....then hoovering and mopping when the sun comes up over the horizon.....

proven fact, after dust reaches 2ins thick, it doesn't settle any more, due to lack of static build up+ 90odd% of dust it dead skin

Only just got around to cooking - and if I don't do the dishes now, I'll have no plates or knives for breakfast

On the subject of *funny weed seeds* My local police HQ had two huge planters either side of the front entrance to the building. The wife of a colleage worked there as a civilian, so I got the story before the press. Apparently, some joker had planted cannabis in there and as it looks remarkably like a tomato plant, nobody had noticed. There were some extremely red faces when it came to light what was in the pots

Reminds me of when we were doing Dario Fo's "La marijuana della mamma è la più bella" (Mama has the best marijuana) for a school play, and were sharing the practice stage with some policemen doing a traffic safety thing... We were practicing rolling "joints" out of cheap Lidl tobbaco, and one of the guys dropped his in their prop box. Took a lot of explaining

Animal, you should know that the longer you leave dust to settle, the sooner it will turn into Sedimentary Rock, and if you sprinkle in a few trees and organic matter, you will soon have your very own coal seam or even Oil or Natural Gas. That would make every home self sufficient in fossil fuels. In fact, I would make it Government Policy, except the government doesn't want boffins like you and I as we were fossilised many years ago...

The community neglects our age old wisdom at their peril...

I went exploring in my fridge, Animal, and I struck a very rich mineral seam of s, a "gusher" you could say....

Will send you a few barrels soon as I get it "refined"....

have to decline Steve, can't stand ale, not over keen of lager(the very odd can)but whisky/vodka and southern comfort

daughter bought me back from Poland, a 500ml bottle of 95%alc/vol vodka...WOW! now that's a KICKto it

P.S. My Dad was Ukrainian and detested wodka. He was a coal miner and an man...

East European and didn't like wodka

it was the first spirit I started out with

German (Bavarian, even) and I don't like beer...
