H2G2 Storytime Episode III
Clive the flying ostrich: Amateur Polymath | Chief Heretic. Posted Aug 21, 2003
Myself and Mr legion are starting to throw together some ideas for a third instalment in 'the continuing saga of The Agency.'
Hopefully we'll have something workable as a premise to start writing with shortly and then we can move onto to asking for contributors.
So I was wondering - can we place adverts in The Post asking for people to join in? The more people we have taking part the more ideas get introduced into the story.
Can I request DoctorMO to design a new banner for us? I now we've discussed this in the past - but given the sort of plots and themes me and Legion have been discussing we're taking it in a different direction to what I had orinially envisioned after the close of Part II. If we do go ahead with these ideas, I hope it will really give DoctorMO some cool new things to play around with in his design!!!
Clive.

okay this is the summary I've been working on. To give people who've not been following the plot to have at least a rudimentary grasp of things.
It runs straight into the advert for Episode III, I've tried to mirror the james bondesque feel ("Bond WILL return in Goldfinger!") in this to exmphasise that we are re-focussing on Arthur and X this time around give poor old Bob et al a bit of a holiday. (Give us some new characters to play around with - of course Leicester in
fullMode will still be up to no good. )
As for the banner ad: here's my idea/pitch to Doctor MO.
We are thinking this time of making the central conceit all about DIAMONDS so I was thinking this might give MO some real opportunity to play around with some transparent, translucent and distortion effects. (he mentioned to me once he enjoyed designing the chains and the red glow for the last one since it was a bit of a challenge.)
Ideally. "H2G2 Storytime I I I" carved out of Diamond, with a few shards scattered around for good measure.
of course that's my imagination going off on one again but as usual I'll be fascinated to see what MO's artistic genius brings us back.
Your advice, comments etc are welcome as always.
Me I'm off to bed.
G'night.

No - that's h2g2 Storytime and you!
As far as I know, Mr Legion hasn't requested a graphic and the one we use now seems very appropriate.

HPB - if you want to join in writing the next segment you're more than welcome, I haven't created a page for it yet nor a forum to run it from, but as soon as I do I'll let you know!

Just seen MO's work on the new banner ads in The Post yahoo group.
Frankly
The Alabaster diamond set is simply breathtaking.
Shaz please give Mo my heartfelt thanks, the boy is a Genius!

I'd suggest HPB you take that up with Shazz.
Meanwhile oh Great One, Your Editorialship sire,
I'll make any last minute adjustments to the advert I've created to run in the post to (hopefully) attract some new contributers. (myself, legion, HPB and a few other old hands notwithstanding...) How would you like it submitted by Pastey's old uploading page offsite or by e-mail?
Also, I'd be very appreciative if you could convice the Powers to convert MO's .gif for the new story into blobs ASAP 'cos then I can set up a forum ready and waiting and link to it directly via the advert with the etc and not have anyone wandering around aimlesly.
Time to get this thing rolling.
Clive.
oh and HPB - just for you....

I had taken that up with Shazz, (whom I don't think will like being called a sire by the way!)...
And I can't see anything that isn't on BBCi.... Digbox doncha know!

Clive the flying ostrich: Amateur Polymath | Chief Heretic. Posted Oct 6, 2003
We'll see. I've sat in pubs wth Shazz enough times to know she is a she. but Sycophancy never hurt anyone.
And Digibox? eurrgh no offence to you personnaly. but I really can't see the point of internet through the T.V if you can't then go anywhere but a specific number of sites that are 'suitable' for memory etc. rather defeats the object of a World Wide Web, doesn't it?

Can only come onto this site.
This isn't Internet when it's only one place...
But then again, I've never seen the reason why people would come on here with net access when there are so many other places.

Hello all
Clive - You *must* use the submit article email link at the Post Office page on h2g2. No other address works now and this guarantees that it will be directed to the correct folder for editing and inclusion.
I can't make any promises regarding blobs - the staff are under a lot of pressure with the cutbacks etc and I must submit my request when everything for the relevant week has arrived.
Hopefully, this will be later tonight.
