Reserves match two days ago was good. Got beaten 4-2, but still enjoyed it. Bizarre formation. Not sure of plan. Kept fighting til end and no tantrums thrown, so improvement on first team.

Had a lovely day off. Did almost nothing.

Woken at 20 to 8 by father. We have received a letter addressed to sister. Thank you for waking me up on my day off to inform me of this. Just what I needed. Also informed that sister would like cardigan sending in post.

Watched a bit of TV - about five minutes of the excellently dire Sunset Beach. It seems that Gregory is dead, but that's about all I could figure out.

Went down village and got video - There's Something About Mary. Wasn't that impressed. It was OK, but not as good as you'd think from the way it's raved about. The dog was pretty good though. Star of the show.

Put Mulder and Scully on grass for an hour while cleaned out. Scully ate grass. Mulder hid in shade. Had to take them in after repeated threatening behaviour from local cat. Could do no violence to cat as owner was sunbathing next door. Will get it later.

Had dinner sat in the garden. Very sunny and hot. Don't like sunny or hot. Went back inside.

Hoovered.

Read more of Game of Thrones. Discovered I already have second in series on order. Good thing. Could have gone and bought it and ended up with two copies, which would have been a bad thing. Have discovered today that only first two have been published, but series is expected to be six books long. Bad thing. Four books to wait for, how will I do it?

Watched programme on Jackie O. Not very informative. Second husband died just as intending to divorce her, but not told what of. Also did not say what she died of. Do know what first husband died of - missing large portion of head after being shot.

Also watched Streetmate and Ally McBeal. Ally got stuck in toilet, which was very funny. Should put on more weight, then she wouldn't have been able to fall in.

Had to park car facing up hill as almost no petrol left. Have to stop waiting until in red before filling up. Will get caught out one day. Imagine embarrassment of running out of petrol.

Am considering creating my first page. As is first time, may be quite traumatic. Must think some more. Also subject for first time is quite important. Sort of like losing virginity, two ways to do it - do whatever comes into head just to get it over with, or plan for ages to make sure is just right. Think I am a planner who gets bored and end up doing whatever.

Almost time to finish pointless job and go home. Have actually done some work today. May do even more tomorrow morning, but is Friday so will do nothing in afternoon. Tradition.

Nice long weekend is just over. Tomorrow is day off. Lovely short weeks. I love bank holidays. I don't know who invented them, but thank you very much - I'd like to buy you a pint.

Still ache from snowboarding last Thursday, despite doing nothing all weekend. Pain is now confined to stomach muscles, and only occurs on use. Which is surprisingly often. At school, in Biology, we fed a kind of liquid dye to a plant so that we could watch where it went, through all the veins in the leaves. These muscle aches are like that. I now know where my muscles are, and how often I use them. The stomach muscles get a surprisingly large amount of use, which is not good, since that was the most painful area.

Of course, nice long weekend means no journal written for a while, and more days to put into next entry.

Dropped sister off on Saturday morning to pick up car. Further trauma since the bank affair. The car wasn't taxed, which meant the garage had to tax it, but they needed the cover note for the insurance and she didn't have one yet (sent first class Friday, so quite naturally not received on Saturday morning), managed to 'borrow' insurance certificate from someone else in family, thus ensuring car could be taxed.

Decided to do a bit of DIYing once I'd got rid of sister. Went to B&Q and bought chicken wire. Went home and fence off underneath of bed and bottom of wardrobe. Mulder and Scully are now unable to chew underneath of bed. I am now able to get a good nights sleep. It also provides a great deal of amusement watching them try to figure out how to get back to their favourite place. Unfortunate side effect - they now have more time to devote to stripping walls. Mulder was stripping just after I had painted over previous damage and now has blue lipstick effect. Must think of bad tasting potion to paint over walls.

Watched Osmonds documentary. Expert says hysteria is catching, leading to girly bimbos all screaming, fainting, etc. Proof of this theory can be seen amongst supporters of Sheffield Wednesday. We have a bad start to the season, we're relegated already. I've never seen such evidence of mass panic.

Carbone was dropped to bench at Southampton. Did not like it. Ran home to tell mummy, took his ball with him. Has been fined two weeks wages. May be sacked. Is in BIG trouble. About time. Should have gone a couple of years ago when walked off pitch during match against Derby. Alan Hanson on MOTD was on our side. This has never happened before. Am not sure what to make of it.

Still there is brightness on the footballing horizon. First home reserves match of the season tonight - Aston Villa.

Gran's birthday visit was very dull. Introduced her to Mulder and Scully. She had tea with parents. Kissed her goodbye. She went home. I hope my life's not that dull when I'm in my 80s. I don't see the point. Then again, it's not exactly thrill a minute now and I'm only in my 20s.

Sister has split with bloke 1. It was all very amicable, they spent the afternoon together and had a laugh. She says if he had been like that all along she wouldn't have wanted to split up with him.

She made me listen to message on her mobile from bloke 2, and also one from his friend. I think the liberal 'oh really' way I have been treating knowledge of her exploits has backfired. I am now being subjected to every minute detail of their relationship. I have discovered that I am not as nosey as I always believed - there are somethings I just do not need to know, not about my sister at least.

Apparently bloke 2 wants to 'have a talk' with her when she gets back to Devon. Which is today. Maybe I should go to the match straight from work, thus skillfully avoiding either tears or sordid details. Or both.

Watched lots of daytime TV yesterday, which is generally bad. Didn't get up in time for Sunset Beach, which is so dreadfully bad it is good. Watched Suddenly Susan for the first time since revising for exams in May. Was a tribute episode to the actor David Strickland who plays Todd, who had died. Have just done a search and found out he hanged himself. Do not understand. It does not say why he did it. Why would anyone do that? Very depressing.

Read some more of book - A Game of Thrones. Is excellent. Must try and get copy of second in series before finish first. Unfortunately, I do not think any more than first two exist as yet. Don't you just hate it when they do that? You stay up for days reading a story and then find out you can't get the last installment for six months. What if the author dies before finishing the story? They should publish all books in series close together, so you can read all at once.

Have only managed to get as far as George Michael in alphabetical journey through CD collection. This could be a good thing, as indicates had more to do over bank holiday weekend than sit in room and listen to music. Could be bad thing as possibly spent the time sat in front of TV, watching I Dream of Jeannie and other assorted nonsense. Larry Hagman, by the way, has aged very badly. As have all of the Osmond brothers.

Have re-developed liking for Sugar Puffs. They are giving away free aliens, which are very cool, so will keep eating until have full set. Steer well clear of Chocolate Sugar Puffs though - possibly the only chocolate thing invented that is foul and disgusting.

Must try and get credit card bill paid. Was due on 29, and have still not go around to it. Will be skint once cheque is paid and have to resort to using credit card. Which I suppose is the point.

Must go now. Two hundred application forms to fold and only 45 minutes to do it.

I am, officially, the world's worst snowboarder. I can't do it at all. But I did really enjoy it. I have discovered muscles I never knew I had, and they are all aching. I have also invented a new way to get up a dry ski slope - fall on your arse half way down and then shuffle back up to the top on aforementioned arse. A lot easier than the rope lift, which just pulls you over, rather than up. At £14 a go, I'm not sure that I'll be going back. I see no hope for improvement.

Sister is meeting with Bloke 1 today. They have decided to get together and split up. Which is civilised of them. But they won't remember friends. Which isn't civilised of them, but is quite practical, since she lives several hundred miles away.

Just spent £50+ on textbooks for next year at college. On top of course, membership and exam fees. I think I might need a third job. Maybe I could sign up to be a test subject for the advancement of medical science.

No improvement on the football scene. Apparently Danny was promised £15m to spend when he came from Barnsley. He's only spent £6m, but has nothing left. So somewhere along the line someone has acquired £9m, which is a nice few months work, or fraud, depending on which way you look at it.

Half the first team squad are going to miss the match at Southampton tomorrow, but maybe we'll get some of the decent youngsters in, which would be an improvement. Hirsty still isn't fit for Southampton, but at least that means I don't have to travel all that way to see the match.

Lasagne & chips in the canteen for dinner, and a few chapters of C is for Corpse, except it isn't yet, he becomes a corpse later in the book. Still reading A Game of Thrones at home, not getting very far with it, although it is a very good book. Full of nasty things that you don't want to happen though.

Not sure what tonight will hold. Considering that I feel like I've been run over by a couple of buses, it won't be anything too strenuous. Possibly some alcohol to dull the pain, if I can find the energy to go to the pub. Or maybe a long hot bath and large amounts of chocolate, followed by Friends and an early night. Or maybe I'll just go to sleep under the desk.

Got to take sister to pick up car tomorrow. Hopefully that will all be over with soon. She had bank-induced trauma yesterday. She rang to enquire about a bank loan (she has already been OKed for finance by Rover) and the pratt at the bank told her that she probably couldn't afford such an expensive car, and they wouldn't give her much of a loan. Made her cry. Bastard. I think I'll have to go and slash his tyres. Or arrange for a load of manure to be dumped on his drive. Or maybe I could come up with something more inventive. No one makes my little sister cry and gets away with it. Apart from me.

Gran's birthday this weekend. Have to attend hellish family get-together. I must have done something really bad in a past life.

Currently working through my record collection in alphabetical order (my life is so full). Have reached E for Everything But The Girl. Hope to reach G for Green Day before the weekend is out, but feel this may be optimistic as it has taken two months to reach E.

Well yesterday was a bit of a mix. Successful from a sister-car-shopping point of view, disastrous from a football point of view.

Awoke reasonably early, to find bathroom occupied by aforementioned sister. For quarter of an hour. Still managed to be ready to leave quarter of an hour before sister.

We made our way in the Mighty Mini to a local Rover dealership, which we had already visited twice. Choosing a young salesman my sister acquired the keys to a Rover 200 and we took it for a test drive. For an hour. She decided she liked it and returned it to the showroom. The salesman looked mighty relieved to see us. It's amazing how easy it is to get a test drive in a vehicle that is retailing for almost £8,000. Spent almost an hour filling in forms so that sister can acquire ownership of the car.

She has decided the salesman is perfect for me and she will ask him out when she goes to pick up the car. Bet she doesn't. He has an extremely nasty anorak anyway, so I'm not that interested.

Went to Meadowhell. It was too late for breakfast at Maccy D's, so we waited a while and had dinner at Mamma's instead. Veg lasagne & chips. Lovely stuff.

Sister purchased a Hong Kong Phooey t-shirt, and I got an index book for my college course.

Got bored of shopping quite quickly and decided to leave.

Went to college where I enroled for my next courses - Matrimonial Law and Contract Law. Exciting or what. It seems that most of my classmates either failed, or only just passed their last set of exams - much like myself. Made me feel a little bit better about my lowly grades.

Made our way down to Hillsborough where sister got a ticket for the nights entertainment and we had a wander around the club shop. Didn't buy anything of course, there's nothing worth buying. Unless you'd like a ceramic Danny Wilson or a swimsuit with an owl embroidered on it.

Dropped in at father's place of work and picked up Sam. He is in the midst of a fight for who is top dog with new pup Jud, who is bigger than him, despite only being 9 months old. Sam is currently still winning, but it's only a matter of time.

Watched Mall Rats on video to while away a couple of hours before it was time to leave for the match.

Had to stop off at Maccy D's on the way to the match for sister to get herself a couple of cheeseburgers, and then onwards to Hillsborough. After that, things went downhill surprisingly quickly.

Lost Des, Builder & Jonk through injuries, and lost the match through being crap. Crowd have started singing sack the board. Takes me back a few years to the days of Bert McGee, when happy days were just around the corner and Hirsty only weighed 11 stone.

Looking on the bright side, which you have to do when you support Wednesday for any length of time (if you don't you won't last long), Nolan is looks to be coming on well after his injury, and Cresswell looked pretty good. We still didn't score though. You'd have thought with spending £5m on strikers, we'd have no trouble scoring goals. You'd be wrong though. Still, it's the first home reserves on Tuesday night, so there's something to look forward to.

Finished off the night by watching Match of the Day. Would quite like to punch Linekar. And Hanson. Quite glad that events at Newcastle are overshadowing our current plight. Maybe we can sort ourselves out before anyone notices they can beat us without even trying.

Today has been same old same old. Get up, go to work, do not much, go to dinner (Southern States of America theme day in the canteen - chicken fajitas and spicy potato wedges - fannnnntasssstic), back to work, don't do much, to be shortly followed by go home. Still, I have snowboarding to look forward to tonight. Broken bones and bruised bum cheeks - wahey.

Disappointment in the canteen yesterday. No Pasta Italienne. Had to make do with Pasta & Bean Bake. Special treat today though, they have Cheese & Pepper Pizza. Not that it is actually a member of the pizza family. It's more like pastry with melted cheese and a few chopped up vegetables on top. I love canteen food (as can be evidenced by my ever expanding waistline). It's like school dinners, but nice. An abundance of comfort food.

Did more car shopping with sister yesterday. Went to the same place twice to look at the same car. She eventually decided she didn't like it - it's got two scratches on the bonnet and strange plastic things glued to the windows.

She is trying to resist the urge to contact Bloke 2 in Devon as he said he wouldn't miss her when she was away. She is having no luck in contacting Bloke 1 in Sheffield, who she said was looking forward to seeing her when they spoke last week. He quite likes his illegal substances and as he lives alone and doesn't work, it is quite possible he has kicked the bucket and is quietly decomposing. Only time will tell.

Went to the shop last night. How exciting village life is. A trip to the shop is an event. Kazzies has been taken over many times in my life, in fact it hasn't been called Kazzies since some time in the mid-70s. It has recently undergone another change in ownership, and the outside has been renovated and now looks quite impressive. There's a distinct lack of peeling paint at any rate. Inside it's still the same, apart from one major difference. They no longer have mixes. What's the point in going to the shop if you can't get a 50p mix? For the uninitiated a mix is a basically a few sweets in a bag - things like cola bottles and chocolate mice - anything comprising mostly of e-numbers that is normally fed to children and retails at 1p-5p, although if you go for a 50p+ mix you sometimes get a liquorice whip or something similar that costs about 10p each. Anyway, new Kazzies don't do them anymore. That means I have to go to Ye Olde Village Shoppe for my kids sweets, but they shut at 6pm. What do I do when the e-number urge overtakes me in the evening? A long-standing tradition is now dead.

Was woken at 2.00 am by Scully eating the bed, again. I am going to stop off at B&Q on the way home and buy some chicken wire to fence off the underneath of the bed. They have left me with no other option. It's either that or insanity caused by sleep deprivation. Preventing Mulder eating the wallpaper is another problem entirely. I suppose once it's all gone if I paint the plaster he won't be able to eat that. It'll give the room a nice ethnic look. Sort of.

Day off tomorrow. Sister wants to go shopping at Meadowhell. Oh joy. I have to enrole at college as well, and there is a match tomorrow night. Half our squad are injured, and the other half are either crap or don't want to play for us, so we should do well. Derby are nearly as bad as we are so there is hope.

Booked snowboarding lessons for Thursday night, so may finish the week with a trip to casualty. Which is nice.

Finished B is for Burglar. I knew who did it ages before it ended, but it was good anyway. Started right out on C is for Corpse. It's looking good already.

Eh well, another day of nothingness is almost over.
