Holiday

Depressing holiday. Gave D. present that several others also got him. Humvees patroling dogpark by airport. Dogs almost got squashed. Wouldn't come when I called them. L Cancelled her cable so I couldn't watch it when I went to check cat. Her fast internet was slow and wierd. Wouldn't let me make changes to online forms. Fritz has cancer and wouldn't eat. Their house smelled unusually doggy. S finally contacted me after blowing me off for 2 weeks but her mother had had a heart attack so I couldn't be mad.
Bad day today. Forgot medication yesterday until after midnight. Still haven't recovered. Can't use personal pronoun. Woke up to MS calling me to go into her apt and getting her cc# for her. Coffee. Felt nauseaus all morning. Gave blood anyways. Bad mood. Called S to cancel seeing her today. Computer problems looking for flight information for B. Picked MO and B both up. Walked Shel. Had some teddy bear arms. Still feel crappy.

Just trails off
Posted Dec 4, 2003
I started writing this earlier and was going to post it elsewhere when it was done. Now I have completely lost my train of thought as to where I was going with it. Now I cannot post it to a forum where I have to sound like am mildy articulate.
-------------------------
Like many Minnesotans including Tim Pawlenty, I was disturbed by the recent dissappearance and appearent abduction. I have always been against the death penalty but when I hear about "heinous" crimes such as this, I sometimes find my conviction wavering. This was the case recently until I heard the discussion on Midday this morning. Representative Tom Hackbar...
------------------------
I know this man (Hackbar) is an idiot. I just can't explain why. Suffice it to say, at the end of the day [note to self: don't forget to do that rant about cliches and overused phrases] he reminded my again why I am opposed to the death penalty and why arguements that support it are empty and stupid.

Wish they'd put "click here to put up new journal entry" at the top of this list rather than the bottom.

The Unknown

I feel compelled to share what I have just discovered, that being the poetry of Donald Rumsfeld courtesy of Slate.com and the BBC World Service.
The Unknown
—Feb. 12, 2002, Department of Defense news briefing
As we know,
There are known knowns.
There are things we know we know.
We also know
There are known unknowns.
That is to say
We know there are some things
We do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns,
The ones we don't know
We don't know.

Weekend's End
Posted Dec 1, 2003
I've had a lovely holiday weekend here. What have I done this weekend? Well almost flippin' nothing that's what. I have spent 8 to 12 or more hours each day on this little computer. All those silly projects I'd planned and shoulda done have gone untouched. So here's a list of things I shoulda done this weekend and failed to do due to slacking:
1. put up plastic on windows
2. finish dishes
3. finish laundry
4. work on beading
5. clear off a decent chair upon which to sit while beading.
6. finish changing out summer for winter cloths
7. take Shel to dogpark
8. join clutterers anonymous
And that's just the things that REALLY needed to get done. Forget about the things that are only slightly less urgent.
On the other hand here's a little list of things I DID get done between online binges: (since I did so little this weekend this list list will have to include things I actually did earlier in the week.
1. cleaned guinea pig cage
2. cleaned cat box
3. some dishes just not all of them
4. had coffee at home rather than buying it (but drank it infront of the little computer)
5. 2 more loads of laundry but by no means all
6. put away 6 loads of laundry done last weekend.
7. walked Shel in neighborhood every day.
8. bathed Shel.
9. rudimentary personal hygene.
