Boom-boom!
I was wondering whether it would be the sticky or non-stick variety that would be winging its way over.
Obviously would prefer the latter, but it would be more fun for everyone else if t'were the former I'm guessing.

Parrot death mystery solved.
The definition google had dragged up was from a specific site about ... parrots! There's a surprise.
But an interesting website. I now know what Dyck Texture is

*resists the urge to start sniggering like a 12-yr-old*
So, what is it then Ictoan?

"J. Dyck (1971) showed that the blue and green color of most feathers, including those of parrots, are due to their structure. He showed that the blue color was the result of constructive interference of light within the spongy structures or “texture” he observed within feathers by electron-microscopy. Thus, the origin of the blue color was the same as that seen for an oil-slick on warer and not the Tyndall effect that was previously thought to cause these feathers to appear blue"
and having had a good giggle from that I suppose it is only fair to the website to provide its link, even though this has now gone beyond funny and into boring.

I am now indeed deeply troubled by all the sinusoidal information about my fellow hootooers that I cannot make myself forget
*joins in the sniggering anyway*

And I was trying so hard to maintain the illusion that I'm a mature grown-up.
Honestly, MrD, has no one ever explained to you that laughter is more infectious than the common cold?

Definitely agree that it is possibly a climate-related issue, no doubt something to do with woolly jumpers and flannel pyjamas.
unfluffy az

Agapanthus Posted Oct 14, 2005
Belly-button fluff may be a climate thing, but it is above all a gender thing. Men have hairy bellybuttons. Hairs accumulate fluff. Women don't. S has a neat little ball of blue fluff to remove every evening. I have never had even so much as a strand of fluff in my life. (Nor blu-tak neither). And I'm the only one in this household who wears woolly jumpers and flannel pyjamas... Unless he's stealing my share of fluff to augment his own?

Just as an aside, I saw quite a few mentions of tig in the backlog here. People are aware that he's been banned, aren't they?

Didn't know he had been banned, GD. Do you mean banned or suspended? Meanwhile, there is someone posting in almost exactly his style elsewhere .. .

Banned not suspened is the message that I've got. So who is this person posting in a similar style to tig? Could you offer up a U-number?

Thanks for sharing that, Ictoan... I think. The picture for some reason made me feel decidedly
I am still amazed by the things that people will share with the world via the web, but perhaps I shouldn't be by now

Getting back to Canestan...
I always confuse the words 'pessary' and 'peccary'. This can be embarassing in zoos - but even more so at the chemist's.

I take it, that it is just a normal rather than a life ban for tig? I cannot find a "Discussions relating to...." page anywhere.

GreyDesk Posted Oct 14, 2005
No FB, there was no indication of a time limit to the ban, so I assume that it is permanent.
From what I can gather, the use of the "Discussions relating to..." method is not being used in every case. If someone has a certain standing in the comunity, such as you or I or Della for example, then they would go down that route. If the researcher in question is merely an egregious little annoyance, then they're not bothering. Certainly that's the way that I understand it.
