The time has come to say farewell
shazzPRME Started conversation Nov 2, 2005
After over 6 years of h2g2 and almost 6 years of running <./>ThePost</.> the time has come to hang up my quill.
It has been a fun ride. The friendships I have made will endure a lifetime - especially the one which saw me move to Holland!
Since my operation and illness earlier in the summer I have dropped by occasionally to see how things were going. What can I say? This place doesn't seem to be a place I want to visit anymore. I guess it has moved on and I have remainded the same.
I give my full permission for the Dutch Researchers club to be taken over by whomsoever would like to run it.
I wish the new Post Team all the best for the future.
I hope that all my old friends will still feel free to email me at my usual address - and those who have enjoyed our hospitality or those who have been invited to in the future are still most welcome.

It hurts, but I understand your reasons.
You will be missed and I know that we'd dance in joy if we'd see you coming back.

to hear that you are leaving us Shazz, but I totally understand your reasons
It is you I have to thank for putting in touch with in the first place, and that came just at the point when I was about to leave myself, so thanks again
If you ever bump into any of my family in Holland, say Hi for me you cant miss them, they are all daft as brushes
Good luck Shazz, and God speed

Shazz
Ironically it is through the contact in Shadow Oak, not h2g2 that I have actually got to know you, but I always knew of you!
Place won't be the same without you.
See you in Gothador

Shazz, I'll miss your presence on the site. We didn't overlap that much or that often, but you were one of the h2g2 landmarks, someone who helped form the shape of the terrain, here.
You're already missed, you know that.

you're leaving, Shazz. I had fun during my time on and always appreciated your patience when I was struggling to meet the deadline. I also have fond memories of visiting you in Holland - although, for some reason, those memories are a bit hazy...
The very best of luck for the future.

You've quite a legacy to uphold Shazz. You helped drag me into h2g2 in your own way, and for that I thank you. I'll miss you. The very best of luck with everything you do. Bottoms Up!

Shazz - apart from all the other things already said, I'll just back up the "welcome back anytime!"

Sad news for the site. You were one of its finest.
I've sometimes wondered what I'll say when I leave h2g2, eventually. But I can't top that No whining or complaining, just a productive goodbye. Going out as you always were.
Shazz. I'll be the first to say it - So long and thanks for all the fish.

Hope you'll still drop in from time to time Shazz. Then there's the reunion tour, the second farewell tour, the second reunion tour...

Thank you Shazz, for
You were one of the first people I chatted to here and at the h2g2 meet in Hyde Park way back in May 2000, when 42 people played softball. Not so many of those original people left here now.

Farewell Shazz. You will be sorely missed.

Dear Shazz
So sorry to hear you are leaving and also sorry that I have been a poor contributer to the Post this last year.
You gave me hope in the darkest times and were the best editor I have ever had the priviledge of writing for. (You never pressed the delete button ).
I am also very sad to hear you have been unwell; I hope your retirement will mean you have the time and energy to concentrate on getting better.
Sorry too that we never met, but there is always tomorrow.
Thank you for all your care and inspiration, the Post and the site will miss you. I sincerely hope we have an honours board somewhere where Shazz Prime can head the list as the best editor we ever had!
Good luck and, as always,
Take care
Boots x
