Illness
Posted Jan 8, 2003
mmm.. yummy.. I appear to have managed to catch myself either the flu, an extremely bad cold, both, or some such other similar illness. I've retreated to my parents' house for no other reason than that I feel extremely, extremely . Perpetual headaches, stomach aches, inability to eat very much, eyes bulging out of sockets, very VERY dry throat (and excruciatingly painful & obligatory coughing) et al. .. at least for a few days I'll be able to hide in bed and sit on h2g2 in the warmth without anything being expected on me.
I just hope I'm better for the week before the meetup.

I've just realised
Posted Jan 6, 2003
that there are certain areas of Southampton which will almost without exception make me feel dreadful - I've spent so much time around them whilst feeling bad that almost without question, whenever I'm in these places, feeling bad seems the conventional thing to do, and so I just seem to slip into it rather naturally, somewhat like someone bilingual slipping into another language. The only problem is that slipping back is rather harder. Unfortunately, one place which conjours up residing thoughts of badness - and I think must have a bad effect on me - is the walk home to my flat, which is totally unavoidable.
I wonder how I'm going to get around this pretty little conundrum.

Spokane..

..we have a problem. It appears that in spite of my bank account being good, my overdraft limit being capacious, and having both a credit card and a debit card, the airline company through whom I booked a certain person's airline flight in fact don't like european credit cards; I need an american express card or a mastercard (neither of which I have). .. and the quickest that my bank can give me a credit card is 10 days, "assuming everything goes through".
You'd think that companies would want my money sufficiently that they'd be prepared to be at least a /little/ flexible about payment and take their fingers out of their a**es, wouldn't you?
However, we have a second planses, yes we dooses.. wish me luck.
That aside, I'm back from hell on earth (well, it wasn't /that/ bad..), and I have a couple of days to recover before heading back to university. Or, rather, one day before I have to start packing. *sigh*.. oh, the joys of rushed-off-my-feet modern life-ness.
to all!
- Njan.

Such a nice space here . This, by the way, is Nyssa posting on Njan's behalf. You can tell by the lack of the illustrious, gracious writing style common to lovely Njan's postings...
Njan is, as we speak, rather trapped in Wales, having been (in good faith, poor baby!) suctioned into a weekend of conversionistic hell at a Baha'i camp. Recalling my own days at Southern Baptist Church camps, I weep for him. I hope they at least don't wake him at the crack of dawn to sing the 'chicken song.' *shudders*
And so, dear Njan will be absent in 'body', so to speak, until Friday or so. Any who wish to join me in expressing their lamentations, please feel free *great weeping and gnashing of teeth *
And in remembrance of he who colors my thoughts, whose ethereal presence alights so gently on my mind...
(don't you all roll your eyes at once, now )
