I've been experimenting to try to find a way of showing long, unwieldy threads in a more readable format - for an experimental synopsis of this thread from the start until 23rd August 1999, go to http://www.h2g2.com/P147412
The format was mostly hand-tweaked this time, but if it looks OK I'll work on a way of automating it to provide an automatically updated weekly synopsis of a given thread (I've been looking for an excuse to learn PERL...)
