Well, I don't have anything yet, and the only thing I have in mind is three months in the future *^_^*.
Would there be demand for a review of the Iron Maiden concert at Earl's Court? Of course there would!

We'll see - I'd like more warnings on what I'll be in for... And I quite like being a freelance, but I would like to know more about what happens behind it.
But yes, I would like to contribute regularly - I get a Captive Audience!

Very true! Basically you would be expected to provide a regular, readable article... preferably sent through on a Friday at the latest, although this aspect tends to fall flat as I still get articles through on a Sunday evening! You should include any links, and be prepared to be edited, although I try not to do anything except correct spelling and syntax ( as you already know!)Apart from that, and a little *nosing* around other h2g2 sites for interesting stories/articles/people, that is all there is to it! If the articles are in early enough, they are sent out to other (editing) PR staff for editing, if they are late I do them... and I try to do the final edit before it *goes up* on a Sunday! This failed this week for all sorts of reasons! You get group emails about all sorts of interesting things and you can join in any conspiracies we have running LOL
We are hoping to *section* the Post soon, but need to pick our *section leaders* with care
gosh! What a long posting!

I would normally do the writing by Friday anyway (hard to get computer access on weekends). But, presumably, you would want me to write consistantly on one area, and not branch out as much as I have done. So I guess a lot of it would depend on what it was that was being suggested.
But keep me in mind and let me know more details - I'd like to, but I don't want to promise something and then discover I will let you down and not be able to do it.

Shazz...flogg me if I'm out of line here.....but it has been my observation that the more active PR's you have, the easier it is on everyone involved! As well as the more "freelance" writers you have, the easier it is!

In Theory yes! But too many and it becomes unwieldy! You need to know WHAT they want to do/write about, and then you need to know that they will actually come up with the promised article! There is nothing worse then sitting waiting on a Sunday evening for an article which doesn't arrive and then scrambling to write/edit an article to put in it's stead LOL I have PR's who I don't know !! Veggie took them on and they haven't seen them since! Most were editors, which would be great if we had time to send them the articles and then get them back in time to publish... but it doesn't seem to pan out like that
I am hoping that we can have a thorough clear out/clear the air/sort out jobs soon!

I am sorry, I meant to get you that article sooner...

The trouble is, it's all voluntary. I realise it can be no other way.....but finding volunteers who are really commited to the project is, to say the least, difficult.
In time, you will have a full compliment of devoted PR's. There will be many good writers and editors who do not have the commitment....and many lesser ones who do.
It was my experience, playing in a club band, that it was better to have a lesser musician who made all the practices and shows, than to have an "Eric Clapton" who only showed up when he felt like it!
(Just my 2ยข's worth of encouragement!)

Thank you for that NM In reply to Bluebottle... You wouldn't neccessarily have to stick to one subject! If you were given the job of generally roaming around h2g2 and picking on anything interesting that grabs your attention... how would that sound? You could be *The Post's h2g2 Roving Reporter* That way you could contribute a variety of different articles much in the same vein as you already have!
