Sorry Bb... I think that my diatribe was aimed more at NM who didn't qualify his answer... I am afraid that you were caught in the flack and for that I apologise

OUCH!!!
I'm sorry to say that the only recorder I have had the "pleasure" of hearing are of the cheap plastic type! I *have* seen one rather nice wooden one.....never heard it played. No one had the foggiest idea how to play it!
I was not aware there were so many variations of the instrument, and have never heard one played by a serious musician. By all means, if it's not too much trouble, send an example! You have got me quite curious now!

I most surely will then NM... but it may have to wait for a while as I am rather busy atm... plus most of my recorder music id either packed or at TM's I am hoping to record one of my recorder clubs before I leave though... so be prepared for anything
By the way, although I agree that the wooden recorders have the best sound generally, you would be amazed at the quality of sound which can be produced by a plastic one. After investing in a solid silver flute and top flight clarinet, I had to lower my sights for recorders LOL

I understand your schedule at the moment! No rush.....I haven't heard it in 43 years, a little longer won't hurt!
I have a feeling it will sound wonderful! I once heard a professional saw player(yes, a handsaw!). It was some of the most hauntingly beautiful strains I believe I have ever heard!......And the Tripoli Steel Drum Band! WOW!!!!!Who would have thought someone could make 55 gallon oil drums sound like that!
It only goes to show that it is not the instrument which makes the music....it is the musician.

Thank you for agreeing to open your musical ears to the recorder NM...I have a feeling that I will be able to change your mind this time

I think I shall have to drill a rather large hole in our basement floor, before this is over!....I've been needing to do this for quite some time, though!
The stairs have not been kind to Monsys' knees, I'm afraid! At 5ft. 12 inches, her knees are not her best attributes, ....and the workout has done her no good!
At least the rain has stopped....for now. If it will hold off for a a few days, I can get the water to drain out as fast as it comes in, at least!(maybe!)

This is the first light-hearted thing the anarchists have done, ever!
We are going to embark on a campaign to draw attention to the lack of Dangermouse airing on TV.
Plans have been drawn up at:

Yup! I mentioned that in the "articles that need to be written" page. I am willing to take on the responsibilty of writing the Dangermouse guide entry!
I wanna make it 'official guide' standard to...
I hope to start work on it tomorrow and have it up on tuesday, at the latest.
Who's with me?!
Hello, Bluebottle!
FairlyStrange Posted Mar 12, 2000
I'm looking forward to it!
I can't imagine a UK website of this nature, with no mention of Dangermouse!

Dangermouse will always be my favourite Powerhouse
Well, there's loads of things that I was shocked at to find they hadn't been written about in the guide. So that means more wprk for me, and proud additions to the my list of approved articles.
Ok, maybe expect draft one of the article to be up on saturday. You'll certainly know when it's up !

I've tried to keep it as close to the submission guidlines as possible, so I haven't linked to BBD. Well, if you want to see it then you can go to my homepage!
I reckon I'll need input, of course. I know there's at least one fact I manged to get wrong, and I'll see that it's corrected. For now, just point out all the mistakes you see fit
