I'll be entrusting myself to ScotRail again. Seems rude not to since we've chosen to meet up so close to Queen St.

So, were you really that bad yesterday?
I can't understand why
What about the end of Feb? Either 17th or 24th? 2nd Scottish Meet-up?
Have a think about it and let me know. Naturally depends on what's happening down south and with 'The Project'.

I think it may have been because I came home and started drinking again.
Anyway, either 17th or 24th is fine with me. I'll try and muster some troops.

Babel17 Posted Jan 8, 2001
You started drinking again when you got home?
I'm impressed. By the time DD dropped me off, I had to get them to drop me near the station because I thought it a good idea to walk the mile or so over the hill and down the road to try and clear the fugg that had decended on my brain. I didn't feel very drunk, but it still didn't make me want to take my car back from the station then. I went back up yeaterday afternoon for that!
Up and down that bloody road 4 times in less than 24 hours yesterday, because we went out for tea to the local pub last night. In fact all my main meas have been in pubs all weekend
Shall I start an article for this one, or shall we tag it onto your old one?

Well I walked home from the station and only fell over once, so I decided I couldn't be that drunk after all. Everything was fine until I tried to get up on Sunday morning and found I couldn't...
I think we should start a new article, make it look more important.

Babel17 Posted Jan 8, 2001
Shall I do one then?
Yes, Sunday morning, well, that's the reason I waited until afternoon before trying to get up properly. I didn't really want to, but there was the car to fetch.

Dr E Vibenstein (You know it is, it really is.) Posted Jan 8, 2001
If you're feeling particularly energetic, feel free to create a new article.
I was in no fit state to fetch anyone's car at any time on Sunday.

Well on Sunday I got back into the car and drove to Stranrear after dropping someone off at Ayr. Stopped and got her ticket then off to MacDonalds for lunch and a quick visit into the Ayr market at the race course. Then back to the station for our farewells. Said goodbye thne watched her walk into the station. Started the car up but only got as far as the gate unto the platform before I stopped and within seconds somebodywho hadn't climbed the walkway over the track was standing in front of the gate so got out of car and had one last kiss before fighting the tears all the way down to Girvan.
But hthe 17th or 24th of February sound good for a meet up.

Okey Dokey, a wee bit of jiggery pokey with the shift rosta and the 24th it is (provisionally, mind) Time to get an article up and running tomorrow and then hit the canvasing. Lists of people are already being drawn and a mass spam, sorry, Recruitment Drive is about to take place. (in a nice way, of course)

Babel17 Posted Jan 9, 2001
*has dropped by a few people to mention it today, and will get an article up this evening, based on response. Also finds that he may have to sweet talk somebody into covering his shift for him that day, especially as his partner is AWAY THAT WEEKEND!!!!!! *

Scottish Meet-up v.2.0? Feb 24th?
I'm there! I suggest that we have the meet-up in Inverness. Or not. Probably more convenient for everyone if we didn't. Edinburgh will be fine. Or Glasgow would be even better, since I wouldn't have that far to go to get back home.
And another good thing about that date is that it's ust after pay day.

Well, you'll have to do something else to raise funds. Can you juggle?
Kerching! Klunk! Whizz! Thump. Ugh.
Lost in Scotland Posted Jan 10, 2001
Oh, you get paid on the 9th, Babel? That sucks.
EV, I can juggle. Does that help?

Babel17 Posted Jan 10, 2001
Actually, it's the 6th LiS. Used to be the 15th before being outsourced to Big Blue.
However, I have an idea. I get dressed up in my scruffiest clothes, carry a copy of the big issue, go into a pub and find a large group of people, recite a terrible limerick about the me, Life, the Big Issue, and then demand monies off everyone there
Sorted!

Hehe.. That should do the trick.

Lost in Scotland Posted Jan 10, 2001
Yep, it did. I wonder if we could get the money back from him if we found him and told him a limerick about Life, the Universe, h2g2 and everything of which he would make no sense at all?
