I expect the beans to start coming up in about four days. Last night I planted the pumpkin and squash seeds in peat pots that can be stuck in the ground later.

It dose sound that you grow a good variety of veggies

Not as wide a variety of veggies this year as before. I've been busy planting flowers to brighten up my neighborhood -- asters, blackeyed Susans, coneflowers, marigolds, zinnias, petunias, etc.

Sounds very colorful do your neighbors do their bit as well

Shame you had to argue with Susan about it, but it all sounds lovely.

wish i could plant a few tourists

Blocking thee footpaths stopping to take endless useless photos nicking all the parking spaces

If it's Tourist Season, why can't we shoot them?

After all we have Deer, Hog and Duck Seasons.

There are two others who are involved in the project with me. We're all amateurs and we don't have much to spend, so we haunt deep-discount stores for supplies whenever possible. We tend to raise plants from seed rather than buying potted pants, though none of us has room in our houses to grow hundreds of flower seedlings in March when it's too cold outside for them to grow. I managed to raise seedlings in ten containers, and had virtually no room t turn around in my living room. However, those containers are sitting out in the sun at the entrance to the Park, and they're loving the sun. I expect the first blossoms within a month.

The entrance is a 200-foot ramp that descends from the highway to the Park. A guardrail runs along the side, separating the ramp from a six-foot-wide strip of lawn, which is bordered by a chain link fence. We planted a row of dwarf Alberta Spruce in the lawn along the fence, as well as some mums and a long row of morning glories right up next to the fence. The Main office was trickier to plan for, but we've bought cheap petunias [fifty cents per plant] and transplanted them into 3 long planters that run along the front side of the office. There are some large pedestalled planters that we haven't filled yet. There's a Common Area with picnic tables and a border of plantings that was made ten years ago by the previous owners. Many of those plants have gotten run down. There were dead trees in some large planters, so we removed them and planted mammoth sunflowers in their place.

We have a website, which I haven't seen in ages. Not many photos there that I know of.....
