Got an update from MS..

All is well in terms of soil removal and sod replacement and there has been no notifications regarding lead removal from the roof of the house and outbuildings. That will be handled by either city or county agencies at some point, or maybe not??
As for weather, it's supposed to be a mild week ahead, no rough cold, heat, or rain in the forecast over the next few days. I'm fine in all other areas as well.

Hello, folks.

Sorry for not being around, I've been overly engrossed with what's been going on here regarding current events. I'm not talking about the impeachment circus, mind you. I KNOW that's a waste of the Peoples time and money.

The lead removal, which is complete, has been a success. The lawns have been resodded with St. Augustine, which supposedly is much easier to maintain. I will say that I have my doubts about that, as the edges of the "pieces" of the sod seem to be turning brown??

The Kobe Bryant death was a major bit of surrealism, and the Coronavirus outbreak does keep me on edge during waking hours.

I hope to be in more often.

I agree baout the impeachment. The Republicans will vote to acquit him. Removing him from office will take 67 votes, a formidable tally that would take a lot.

If even some of your grass survives the transplant, chances are it will growth out and eventually cover the whole lawn.

I have the same idea as you regarding the new sod. My preferred option would have been a rock surface for both lawns. We have a problem with feral cats and dogs, though, and cleaning up messes in such is next to impossible, or so my stepmother said as the choice was made. Also, the handyman/gardener who is my "neighbour", has said that St.Agustine is generally low maintenance. I thought that would mean watering as well.

I hope that any coming water rationing plan, and I'm sure we'll see one as soon as April or May, will allow for maintenance. Listening to a morning report about current snowpack conditions
makes me doubtful though.

Well, at least most of the lead is now off property. There's still hotspots onthe roof of the main house, and in the parkway turf. Unfortunately, the removal of those hazards will come later, because of City and County bureaus are assigned those tasks. I understand that is a longer wait.Much longer .

ASctually, you may be in good shape with that type of grass.

So, I think you should give it a chance. If it goes dormant during extended dry stretches, wait to see if it rebounds when the rains return.

Speaking of silk tree, you would probably love it for its feathery foliage and pink feathery blossoms. My neighbor has one, and everyone adores it.

The last time I got a valentine card was in elementary school. We can see how much good that did me.

The only one I ever got was sometime in my early "teens"
Tried Sherlock Holmes tactics but no postage stamp on it and no other "clues" as to who/where etc etc and I'd no girlfriends par say at the time
