Muck seems to be in plentiful supply pretty much everywhere. This means that poor countries can't make money by exporting some of theirs.

Unfortunately, newspapers are having a hard go of it because the Internet makes their content free. They can't make any revenue from it.

some "newspapers" over here are now doing subscriptions to online content

I've noticed that.

I don't buy newspapers anymore, I just put on"teletext (bbc)" for any bits of news or just watch news progs as such

news isn't news anymore- just gripes or whose bombed who etc

I'm too stubborn to pack it in or go all out with new technology. I will pay whatever I can afford for the print versions of newspapers and books. Older technologies never go away completely.

Candles did not disappear when electric lights came along. We still need them when the lights go out, and they have ceremonial uses (candlelight services, Jack o lantern illumination, Japanese lanterns, birthday cakes, etc.).

Looms did not disappear when machines began weaving cloth.

Painters died not vanish as a profession when the camera came along.

What's better? Papers that can be recycled or used for kindling or lining birdcages? Or computerized newspapers that increase global warming when the power used comes from burning fossil fuels?

I learnt to read and write at school etcknowledge comes in many formatsand age being a benefactor in most cases
