No apologies needed. I was just trying for a subtle hint to let you know that you are still being thought of. Come on back when-ever you've things in-hand again. I'm going nowhere, dear Lady. smiley - smiley

And that really IS a good thing. With the number of real-world friends that you have here, the journals alone can keep you busy for hours. And then on to your fun threads ...

In your other line, you suggest that because of your good man, you are finding something called self-esteem. I've always felt that you had good personal cause to own a very nice one. You have, by nature, such a good heart. And you have made yourself involved in a number of ways with others, "friends and enemies" in some people's books. Trying to make your own mark and contribution. You can be sure that you have left a mark with every exchange and camp program that you have been involved with. My dear, you simply are a very good person, and one who should one day realize just how important you are to everyone who knows you.

Oh, and one other thing, ... You look very fine in a blue dress. smiley - smiley

Well... smiley - erm See, that's the funny thing about insecurity.
It doesn't matter what other people say, if they think you're smart, or talented, or good-looking, or whatever. You don't really believe them; you figure that they're either just being nice, or they just don't really know, because in your mind, you 'know' that you are not good enough. That you have no chance of ever being good enough.

(In a weird, contradictory sort of way, this is a somewhat arrogant way of thinking, because you tend to assume other people don't know what they're talking about - but of course, this is a completely irrational feeling to begin with. And as such, it is very hard to control.)

That's what Dan changed.
Because he knows me better than anyone else, sometimes even better than myself, and so I have no choice but to believe him. smiley - loveblush That's what he does for me. And it's incredible.

My friend, you needn't try to describe insecurity to me. I have written a manual on it. I just face, deal with or conceal it as best I can.

And you know that I am so pleased for you, your happiness and the source of it. smiley - hug

How's stuff on your distant bit of this little globe? Here, it's just bleak, bleah and chilly. It's getting to be an annoying habit too. smiley - brr

It's not exactly winter yet, but getting there... it's raining, right now. Just started some time ago. But it was pretty warm still in the afternoon.

We've had nearly non-stop rains for several weeks, and I don't think the temperature has seen double digits in atleast that long. This morning was right on zero-C, and a heavy frost on the cars ...

BTW, I scoured and perused those last pics, and didn't see one bikini-shot. Not much of a vacation without those, ya know. But thinking on it a bit, perhaps it was just good taste after all ... Dan in a bikini could really be a frightening sight. smiley - rofl

smiley - ermJeez, two weeks? Oops. I was gonna reply to this earlier...

Anyway, umm, what was this all about? Bikini pictures?
smiley - tongueoutPft. Who's to say I even brought a bikini to begin with?

Mostly, we just didn't go anywhere where we'd need a bathing suit. Not many swimming beaches around and such.
*shrug*
I managed. smiley - biggrin I'm sure you will too.

Well, besides being a lecherous old coot, ... do I "need" a reason to look for bikinis? smiley - laugh

I really was only kidding anyway. I have no idea what beach conditions, or especially temperatures, would be on that side of the continent. And I doubt that's where you'd be looking to waste what limited and valuable time you had.

Anyway, how goes the studies, papers and stuff that makes up the head-aches and nightmares of the becoming-educated crowd? smiley - biggrin

And so another 2 weeks slips by, ... one of them now just ending in Edmonton. smiley - brr and but it's been cold here ...

Anyway, looking down my "friends" list, I see another count-down in progress. Your turn to hop an ocean or so? Or Nuke-man's once more? smiley - smiley

Well, been a while... and I still have a lot of catching up to do, so just in short:

I am really enjoying my studies this year. I absolutely love all my courses, except for one, but that one I can manage too. smiley - smiley
Dan is coming here on my semester break again smiley - loveblush - should have been January 27th, but now we're trying see if he can move i a b, since my sister is returning from almost six months of travelling in the Far East on the 25th, and my family will feel quite uncomftable if he comes here so soon afterwards.
And thanks for the holiday greeting. smiley - biggrinsmiley - hug

As for other news, well, like I said in the journal, those'll have to wait for another me.

Quite a family of travellers you have, eh? You've been here, there, nearly everywhere with your camps, exchange programs and what-evers. Mom is periodically off to points in South America. Sis to the Far East ... some people will go any distance for a proper smiley - tea. smiley - laugh

I am pleased for you that the studies are going well. AND that a young fella will be travelling your way again ...

Well, I haven't really gone on the traditional Israeli 'big trip' that so many do after the army. The camp stuff was great, but there wasn't really much travelling in it, y'know?
So this is another of those 'it's always yet'...

My sister, anyway, is really doing a wonderful trip. So far she's been to China and Mongolia, then set out to do a bit of a detour in order to renew her visa - it was supposed to be Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam, but because of the regime in Myanmar being what it is she wasn't sure if she could go to Laos, so she flew to Thailand, spent some time relaxing, and then passed to Vietnam through Cambodia, and is now making her way north, back to China. smiley - puff It'll be almost six whole months, by the time she gets back, and we definitely miss her. smiley - smiley

Simply, ... smiley - wow

THAT is what I call travelling. It's certainly not an idea that I ever envisioned. My world has always been work, pay bills and buy food, work some more. Perhaps one day, while I am still ambulatory, I'll have the time and resources to try a bit of "real" travels. smiley - smiley
