Hey, you're not cheating are you? Doing little bits of marking in between hootooing?
I mean, it wouldn't be fair, would it - it's not like I can have little naps while I'm waiting for a page to load

Hey, did you hear in the UK about the tsunami warning here a week or so ago, where people on the East Coast heard about it from places like BBCWorld in the middle of the night?
Civil defense here apparently decided that there was no risk, but forgot to tell anyone.

(Sorry - my backlog powers have evaporated this last week ... it's the heat, it's the work, it's the World C... other distractions )

Which bit? Where do we start from?
Thirty-two teams (who've all had to go through qualifying rounds to get there), arranged into eight groups of four - they all play each other and the two teams in each group with the most points after that then go into the second round (which is now a straightforward knockout competition), then the quarter-finals, then the semi-finals, then the finals.
Or is that the easy bit?

Yeah, but at least we get delayed highlights of the WC here. Not sure that TVNZ managed to get the rights to Prittball.

(Prittball's the same. Only the ball's made of pritt. And none of the players can be bigger than a shrew. Or a toilet rabbit).
Upsurge in interest in the Antipodes after yesterday?
(Not that I'm suggesting the Australian mugging of Japan will have been celebrated down your way exactly ...)

No that's perfect! I hadn't been able to figure all that out and everything I've seen assumes everyone already knows all that.
So where is it all up to? I've got this chart thingy from the paper with the 8 groups on it but the first games in it don't start until the 26th. But there are games already going?
