On holiday for two years? Lucky bleeder
Well if he claims to be someone who was around 2 years ago, then he should be able to remember his old ID, or places that he used to hang around in, or folk he used to know. Heck, he could contact h2g2support and get his old details back if he really wanted.
Now, if you got silence from him on all of those ideas, then I suggest he's fibbing and is a newbie.
What you should do? Generally ignore him unless he starts impersonating an ACE/GA and goes off confusing genuine new researchers. At this point he should be yiksed and put on pre-mod.

Thanks GD. I was thinking more about the chaos that ensued the official banning because there were differences of opinion about whether it should happen. If we are discussing banning here, its good to know that this isn't necessarily a straightforward thing for the community.
Also I'm probably confusing this a bit with the general conflict about rules, moderation etc that existed (exists?) on h2 before my time - say more than a year or so ago.
But your post does put the current thing in perspective.
That's interesting about the final reason for banning LeKz though - I hadn't known that part of it.

"impersonating an ACE/GA and goes off confusing genuine new researchers"
He has and was put on pre-mod. Then he opens a new account and does it again with a name like h2g2 guise.
I think we are currently up to 15 pages yikesed

Sounds good to me. What happens when he just opens another account?

Answering an earlier question (I just got up) I haven't heard back from the mods on my yikes, although they did remove the harrassing post The Devil made after I told him to stay out of my space.
I still vote banning, if they can make it stick somehow. This little will continue to be a problem if he's allowed to stay, I have no doubt.

Perhaps something like a five year ban would do the trick? That way he has time to mature (the gap between 17 and 22 is a large one).
I'd like to know if he plays these sort of games in real life. I can't see him reaching 22 if he does.
