I don't know what he's on about.
Tango, if the person who did the Atled graphics had really wanted to do you a favour, they would have exercised their own understanding of right and wrong and refused to do it.
But, once they had chosen to aid and abet you in trying to access the CA list message archive under an assumed name, they became a part of it. And then let you take the fall.

I tried, oh how I tried.
Tango, your age has *A LOT* to do with this. If you were older, your perspective would be much different. You'd not be assuming that just because someone didn't agree with you, they were illogical/stupid/wrong. You'd know that there are many ways of looking at the world, all of which have valid observations to make. You'd know that people do things to subvert the system, but own up to them in order to keep their jobs when caught out. You'd realize that going around insulting people is not the best way to make your case.
And before you go thinking I'm trying to denigrate you, I'm not. I was EXACTLY like you when I was your age. EXACTLY. I thought I knew everything and that everything, if it was only done my way, would be perfect. I thought that everyone who didn't see things my way really was stupid -- absolutely rock solid idiots, the whole lot of them.
And then I got a few more years behind me and realized that if I met my teen self in a dark alley, I would probably kick my own ass.

If you believe that then you really don't understand me. Everything you say i'd know if i were older, i do know. I have never called anyone stupid for disagreeing with me, NEVER. I have called people stupid for disagreeing with me in a stupid way, but never for simply disagreeing with me. Let me give you a completely irrelevant example. I say the moon is made of rock. You disagree with me and say it's made of cheese. You are being stupid. Not because you are disagreeing with me, but because you are believing something that is so obviously not true. Were i to agree with you and also think the moon was made of cheese, that would not stop you being stupid, it would just make me stupid as well, so i am unlikely to notice and point it out. I have called people stupid for what they say and belive, what i say and belive does not come into it.
If you were really like you describe when you were at my age, then i pity the people who had to live with you. Not everyone is the same at the same age, remember that.

"You may be right, this may not be due to your age, it may just be your personality."
After all, some people have made similar observations about SEF, and she's what now, 58?
Of course, on the whole, I find SEF to be far less annoying than Tango. I'd guess that most people here in this thread would be able to understand why -- after all, we've had some marvelous examples.

Okay, off the top of my head, this one: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/brunel/F84729?thread=320271&skip=160&show=20#p4147792 post 162: ""Yes, I have read many of them. And nowhere can I find any concrete evidence to support your allegations." Oh god. Can someone else explain it? I don't know enough words of one sylable."

I would say that's because I am less tolerant than SEF. My lack of tolerance is probably a failing, but it doesn't make my points any less true or valid.

"It was in context, as you would have know if you were capable of reading things correctly."
Same URL as the last one.
Now, I only entered this conversation, after lurking for a long time, as you were beginning to p*ss me off so much i snapped- I had been aiming to stay out of this. Now, I have no ineterest in a slanging match- if anyone else wishes to post links or comments agreeing/disagreeing with my moderated post, if they read it.
If they didn't read it, i shall post agin, removing what i believe to be the offending comments:
"You, at your age, however, are an arrogant little who feels he can preach to others and insult them but whenever he has a word of criticism against himself gets defensive and insults people some more"
I believe I have removed the word that caused the moderators consternation, so, as I said, use this as a talking point if you wish. I have no interest in a slaging match, merely stating my opinion.

I have also tried to keep my nose out of this, but I will speak up at this moment... why? Because this has degenerated into a character analysis of Tango.
While we might all feel that Tango is immature, I don't think this is the thread to do it in. He's obviously not going to change, doesn't want to change, and trying to make him would be like trying to teach a pig to sing. (Wastes your time, annoys the pig.)
Sorry. That's my

Point taken, and I apologise for using this thread as my venue for my criticisms of tango. i stand by them, but admit this may have been the wrong place.
Right, that's the last you'll be hearing out of me.

Finally, something we agree on, Tango!
Honestly, I didn't mean to come across so ...motherly (sorry, best term I can come up with at 2:30 in the morning). What I meant is that I promise that things that loom large now will do one of two things...resolve or not. And as I know you've got a scientific bent, it's been proven (although I can't remember by whom, since the citation is on my laptop, which is in the shop ATM) that teenagers' brains are actually hardwired differently than adults' brains. Which merely means that the way you're approaching this, and the way people who aren't teenagers are approaching this may be, for all intents and purposes, akin to the tower of Babel.
Which is what I'm doing right now, so I think I'll stop and try to get some sleep.
But could you *please* stop calling everyone stupid? Could you just say "I don't agree" or "wow. that's a really interesting/unusual/different perspective"? It would really go a long way in making your case.
