But you could get one within 3 months, couldn't you? Or is that not how it works?

Usually a year for an ASlevel (half an Alevel) and then another year for an Alevel. It doesn't matter. I don't want to do a BTEC and then if I do I'm sure I'll get through with my GCSEs. It's not that that's important. I can't do the teaching anyway. I can't do anything.

I strongly doubt the truth of that last sentence.
Look, you got knocked back, whether you should have been on disability or not. You have to pick yourself up, and you can!

Kat - From H2G2 Posted Jan 3, 2005
Look it's not important whether or not I got the disability. That isn't the main problem. Whilst it matters it doesn't matter that much. Pick myself up from WHAT exactly would that be? Pick myself up from current? Oh well hell it's better than I've been so why bother? It's a lt worse than I've been too but at the end of the day it really doesn't matter how I am.

Kat
I reckon that if you truly weren't bothered about yourself and your future, you wouldn't be here chatting to us. Keep the faith. You'll get there.

Possibly good point there actually
Although admittedly being on here doesn't affect my future
I've managed to eat about 6 full meals today
However the dinner I made was liked by all which is good. Erm...okay that's the positive thing of the day.

You wanna hear about the packing? Three boxes full and taped up Eight to go
I went to see an amazing performance of Handel's Messiah in Glasgow yesterday It always sends tingles down my spine when I listen to it on CD. So when I see it for real I'm usually close to tears... yesterday was no exception

Well done. Are you planning on living for a fortnight with one pan and a spoon for soup or something and two pairs of knickers?
What other music do you like?
KAT Journal
frenchbean Posted Jan 3, 2005
When I went round the world in '97, I had one change of clothes and four pairs of knickers So I'm used to roughing it with underwear
Actually, it's one of the problems about packing boxes right now... I still have four weeks left here, so there are things like bedding, towels, pans etc which I can't pack yet
Music All sorts Blues (I lurv blues), boogy-woogy, jazz, folk, folk rock, rock'n'roll, ballads. I was brought up with The Beatles and the Stones, the Byrds and Bob Dylan In my teens I was a Slade fan and went to see The Boomtown Rats in their heyday The Pogues in the 90s were one of the best bands ever, live. Ditto the SawDoctors, Runrig and Shoulders. All less inspiring today I heard some Jethro Tull yesterday and was reminded what a brilliant flautist Ian Anderson is
What music have a listened to today? Some trad. Scottish stuff by the Corries. Some Steve Miller band. Some Gershwin
How about you Kat?

Oh i'll listen to most stuff to be honest. I've just skimmed through my music files and have found everything from heavy metal to classical
Chopin, Badly Drawn Boy, They Might Be Giants, The Cranberries, Bob Dylan...anything really. It's funny though, currently I can't listen to music unless I'm on the computer. Otherwise I get confused and upset
I've just put sellotape on all my finger ends to stop nail-biting..it's really strange.

I did a very positive thing in actually getting round to filling in an application form for a job I actually want to do....
Badly Drawn Boy , aah, just the thought makes me chill out....
KAT Journal
Kat - From H2G2 Posted Jan 4, 2005
Well done for filling out the form! I've filled out many many many forms for jobs as you can imagine...and then completely failed to get them by being rather...depressed
What's the application for?
My positive thing for this morning. I got up before 11. I have showered and cleaned my teeth.
KAT Journal
Skankyrich [?] Posted Jan 4, 2005
Well, it's still better than not getting them because of being a rubbish candidate I'm hoping to get a job with the Dartmoor Ranger service, which I wanted to do years ago before I got sucked into the education system, and even if I don't get it I should be doing some kind of environmental education - hotel work IS depression....
My positive thing this morning - I got up at 7.30 (but was meant to start at 7, eek!). You've still got 50 minutes of the morning to be positive, you know!

Kat - From H2G2 Posted Jan 4, 2005
Ooohhh rangers!! Would you have to wear the tan uniform and hat? Or is that only in books that they do that? What about when it's wet and windy and miserable? *looks out window*
Okay another positive thing...erm...I went downstairs and got myself a drink of squash. I need more exciting positive things I'm not back in bed...I've recommended two entries this morning...so their authors had better sort out their footnotes
Ermm...negative things are easier. I'm still in the clothes I've been wearing night and day for over a week. I ate chocolate for breakfast. I haven't done any piano practice. I haven't cleared up the kitchen. I haven't been out in erm...three weeks? except to the supermarket on Sunday.

I think that's Canadian Mounties, isn't it? As far as I know I'd have to wear a green fleece and a large amount of dung. And Dartmoors fantastic when it's wet and blowing a gale, though it's hard to make roll-ups. Oh dear, what a give-away
You've made me smile a couple of times already thsi morning so that can't be a bad start! Look on the bright side....
>I'm still in the clothes I've been wearing night and day for over a week. Or, you've cut your washing bill and water usage considerably.
>I ate chocolate for breakfast. You've filled yourself with high-energy food that releases happy stuff into your brain ready for a hard days' scouting.
>I haven't done any piano practice. You've saved your worn-out fingers for another day and made time to open your mind to musical influences.
>I haven't cleared up the kitchen. The mice will thank you.
>I haven't been out in erm...three weeks? except to the supermarket on Sunday. It's raining anyway, there's nothing in the sales, it's cold and you can't take the PC with you. Who needs outside?
I thoroughly recommend you have a nice cup of tea and keep up the good work

Nice lemonaide you made there Skankyrich
A squash drink Kat?
Hmm sounds interesting and healthy, wonder if I would like that?
KAT Journal
Kat - From H2G2 Posted Jan 6, 2005
Oh hang on it's not actually made from squash! I don't know what you might call it in America. It's a sort of concentrate and you dilute it with water. But it's really cheap, not like a cordial or anything like that. You most often get it at community centre meetings in orange flavour
I'm going away to London this weekend for the h2g2 meet. Hopefully it'll go fine. I've got four new books and I'm going to buy some drink on the way so I spend the time calm as possible.
The psych appears to have gone back to the theory (from 3 years ago ) that I'm borderline. I hate that...makes me feel like it's nothing, I'm being pathetic, and besides the words 'personality disorder' make me feel as if it's something to be blamed on me. Oh well she hasn't actually told me that or anything, but I can tell she's going back to that theory.
SO in an effort to show that I'm trying to help myself and do want to be better, I'm writing down the positive things I've done each day.
Admittedly today I've done nothing positive whatsoever. I'm supposed to call the library and renew my book, or do it on the net, but I don't want to because it makes me feel queasy for some reason. I also got a letter advising me to have a booster MMR injection, which I'm NOT going to have!! Dad poked the phone at me but I'm not having it! It's not as if I'm going to spend time surrounded by kids carrying measles or anything. Encountering one or two people carrying it isn't that likely to make me ill, therefore I'm not having it. Besides I had it as separate injections first time round.
Key: Complain about this post
