He'll get chairs this evening. A colleague of mine has some to spare or knows where to get some.
I told him off for drinking the . I hadn't expected him, so had only made less than I used to do.

Not leaving me enough is punishable by death. Or at least makes the person wish for death rather than listen to my incessant moaning.
That's nice your colleague can help with the chairs. It's great when people can contribute stuff- everyone wins. Most of the furniture in K's and my living room is hand-me-downs from family. Our sofa is older than we are.

When my daughter moved recently in London they used Freecycle (in yahoo groups) to ask for bits and pieces. They got a big tv, book shelves and a good quality vacuum cleaner from people looking to get rid of this sort of thing positively, rather than put it in landfill.

I don't think we have anything similar here, but they could go and look for something called 'Sperrmüll' - that's furniture etc people deposit near the road for the council to pick up and recycle. There are often useful things to find.

That's not really surprising. I mean, I'm sure your imaginary friend never objected to anything, was never noisy, or messy, didn't eat, didn't need his laundry done....

sorry to break into the conversation, but i was just hootooing around. This reminds me of my 28 yr old nephew who said, when my sister said she was thinking of selling the house, "I hope the new people like me."

Well, he has moved out, so we can but assume...
And he became a politician and put that on his official website!

I understand your surprise Pierce - it seems to make him a bit over-qualified for the job, no?
