Morning C,

I could really do with that large bloody mary this morning, i was still sat out in the garden at 3am this morning with my last drink.

Had a great day, the weather was stunning wasn't it. We had about twelve 13 year old here all afternoon for pizzas and fun in the garden before they all went off to their prizegiving at 6. Then i had three 9 year olds to look after until just after 9 pm, during which time i prepared for the party...lit a fire, prepared some canapes etc etc. Then i reckon that including parents ( mostly mums) and kids there must of been about 40 people came back here.

Absolutely finished for all the kids now so the whole lot of them ( about 15) jumped in the pool together with their uniforms, should be some good photos.

A few peole faded at around 11, but there were 10 or so that were still here until way after 2am so we had a lovely night. Feeling surprisingly well this morning, i expect i shall take a nap later though.

I have just got my next assignment through, and i have to interview a famous local person ( could be the mayor or a local councillor) and write a 800 word piece on them, so i am not going to worry too much until next week....don't think i could quite get my head around it today anyway.

And you? did your mate come round last night or was it a quiet one? How is the day looking?

Morning C,

Another cracker by the the look of it. I had my quietest weekend for ages, which is no bad thing, i feel quite refreshed this morning, did not even have any alcohol!!**??@#$%^*&??, So i'll be looking forward to having that bloody mary with you later. Might not be this morning though as i will be at college for quite a while today, i have a workshop this morning followed by an assessment afterwards, however i should be online after that for a while.

Yep, very quiet weekend, friday i was in with Max and he watched tv while i read, we chatted a bit and i made some ribs for supper. Saturday we went for a nice walk with the dog before i dropped him off to a friends for the rest of the day and night. Spent the rest of the day watching England hammer SA in the natwest final, lounging in the farden and reading. I had been invited to a party but didn't really fancy it. Up early andv fresh on sunday....probably before you went to bed by the sounds of it.....lol......, went through to watch Max play cricket at 9.30 and then spent the rest of the sfternoon reading, in the garden and on the computer. Jazzed up my space a little bit, and did a bit of writing.

Hopefully there will be some parties this weekend...lol....i just bored myself back to sleepiness telling you about it...lol.

Looking forward to hearing about yours, hope you had a good sleep.

HELP_IM_LOST (why are there not enough hours in the day?)

Oh, i slept like the dead last night! Really needed, still feeling a little tired now, but a chilling evening tonight. Got my son a pool cue yesterday (well, one of the guys got it for me) so will have to take Luke over the pub this afternoon, and challenge him to a couple of games of pool, he is over the moon with it! smiley - biggrin Hows college going? Ive got to work today smiley - blue and with all this sun, really dont want to, so after ive had a couple of games with my son, we will prob come home, and ill let him go over the park, then i can sit out in the garden and read, and relax, in fact, that is where i am headed now, have breakfast outside smiley - biggrin I love smiley - love this weather smiley - biggrin

Good result on the cricket as well, couldnt beleive that we won, some of the guys got me to turn the telly over, so they see us getting the cup? Trophy, whatever smiley - biggrin

Have a good day you, and may see you on-line later, but maybe not, as with this weather, ill prob just want to sit out in the garden smiley - biggrin

Hey C,

You cannot beat this weather hey?...the sun is a real tonic, one of the reasons i live in Africa. It is very easy to get used to a place when you know that the skies are going to be blue and warm to hot on a daily basis for at least 10 months of the year...even winter is only really cold in the nighttime and early morning....apart from maybe a week or three a year!! It is certainly making it easier for me to settle back in for now. I have promised myself that i am not going to bitch about it at all when it gets rough, but i know i am going to struggle later in the year!!

College is cool, i breezed through my pre-assessment and will now move on to the next level.

Shame about having to work on such a hot one, i guess it is over now, at least it was only for a few hours. How did the pool go?, you must be well proud.

What book are you reading?

Love to chat online later, i am going to get into some work now ,but i will stay online...so if you log on and don't see me...send me a mail and i will pull in for a chat.

If not ...enjoy the garden and the sun....chat soon regardless

Ill remember that when the cold weather gets here smiley - biggrin (you not bitching about it, as i will) smiley - biggrin

The pool, mmmmmm, not very happy with my son at all, he did really well, but im trying to teach him the manners of the game, managed to get him to stop sulking if he looses, but, and dont laugh here, if i missed a shot, he'd laugh, and it was the general sarcasm, so i said, you dont laugh, or brag if you win, so until you learn how to behave when you play, im stepping back, and you can just play it on your own, whilst having every intention of playing the final game with him, just trying to get him to understand, anyway, he finished his game, i had just got myself another drink, he has sat down, saying "oh, what am i going to do now, cos you've got another drink, im going to be bored now" which really annoyed me, as the entire afternoon was based around him, so i frogged marched him home, and we have barely spoken, no grattitude what-so-ever, so quite annoyed with him, but hey thats kids for you!!!

The book i am reading is the visitor, by Lee Child, its a murder book, but with a twist in it, only just started, but think the twist is going to be very good! So really enjoying it!

Glad that things are going well for you at college smiley - biggrin thats great news smiley - biggrin

Your Luke sounds like our Oliver (9)...bad loser, bad winner....going to have to teach him good grace in victory and defeat!!....

It is a whole new world for me, and for the first few weeks i really battled trying to understand the reality of kids ( i'm learning through the experience of a 16, 13 and 9 year old).....and it is very hard at times. And that is from someone who can basically walk away at any given time....point being that i truly take my hat off to you, especially when it is clear that you are intent on bringing your boy up with lots of love but discipline too.

So apart from the grief with Luke....how you doing?....garden good?

No, didnt get chance for the garden, after taking him to the pub, and organising dinner, east-enders had started, that is about one of the only tv progs i watch, along with Bad Girls, so just had dinner in front of the telly, but i have tom off, dont start work until 5, and it is going to be hotter tom, so im going to go out, and finish treating the fence, just a wood protector, and a colour in it, so enjoy the garden then! Ive now sat down to watch Philidelphia, will be on this as well, with a spritzer, very nice too!!! smiley - biggrin Hows you? Oh, meant to say, i went to have a look at your page, very good too! I cant work out how to get the pics on mine, only the smilies smiley - sadface sure i will get the hang of it though smiley - biggrin

I will probably have to log off just now, i promised Sam, the 16 year old, that she could have the computer when she got home at around 9pm, i think she is going to be chatting with her friends, quite amazing really, she often has four chat screens going simultaneously as well as doing homework and listening to music!!

And i promised my sis that i would join her for a couple of glasses of red when she got back at the same time.I'll stay on till they come, if i miss you ...maybe tomorrow.

Oh, and Luke is a very bad loser, and bad winner, trying to teach him some grace with it! I make sure i beat him a pool from time to time (when i can that is) and everyone thinks im mean for it, but all i say is he has to learn how to lose! Poor kid, wicked mother eh!!! smiley - biggrin

Kids always can manage that, music, tv, chat-screen and homework!!!! My parents always made me do my homework in the dining room, with no music, used to drive me up the wall, so many arguments about it its untrue!!!

I used the cut and paste to do the pics.

Coincidentally i have just finished ( a couple of weeks ago ) doing the fence with that stuff...green protector...very therapeutic!!...into painting a wall right now. i will be around tomorrow too, i have college for a couple of hours in the morning, but i shall be in and out of here during the day and evening.
Eastenders....me too...lol...not religiously, but if i see it i often sit down to watch...can't believe i do ..but i do.It is strange watching it in Africa, somehow it makes me closer to where i come from.

Im not religous on it either. My mum's partner is Scicllian (havent spelt that right! I give up, i used to be a secretary as well!!! Spell-check always came in handy there!) My mum met him when he came to England, his family had sent him over partly to learn English (my mums partner is quite young) and he learnt most of his English from East-enders, learnt the queen's language, then used east-enders so he could speak the english that is actually used here (i really hope that makes sense) smiley - biggrin

Not wicked at all...i agree, i make a point of beating them, i will go easy and let it be close, but firstly they need to know how to lose, and secondly they need to learn how to fight and win deservedly.Mind you...i battle to beat Max at sports like tennis and table tennis...lol, i get them all with Chess and mind games though....so another reason is so i can enjoy winning while i can...lol

You make good sense C...lol. love the bit about 'queens english'...lol

Hence the visit to Italy, are they living in Scicily?

As well as all the courses i am doing i am intent on learning languages, funnily enough i had decided to start with Italian and have recently got my hands on an Italian home course. Actually it was mine from way back. I like the language and listened to it for long enough in the past so it seemed like a good place to start, from there i am hoping to pick up Spanish easily, the Portuguese and go on from there. Once i have got the ball rolling i won;t stop
