Never the alcohol!!....

Awful how the slightest little slip....one word, or even a punctuation can completely change the meaning of a sentence....lol

Whatever...very glad to hear that the babbalas is now a distant memory.

So, whats happening with you?...busy week?

Ok...my week....still busy trying to lose this damn col/flu thing....i think my blood is still to thin for our climate here, not used to these constant changes...nothing to do with being at a garden party until 3am sat before last.
Monday i was busy with an assignment most of the morning, pm went for a long walk on hadleigh heath....bit of a hike really...evening ,went to watch one of my nephews play in u13 cricket final, late supper with company that only started at about 10.30 with too much red wine.Stayed up till early hours polishing off assignment.
Tuesday, up too early....did some more work on next assignment....pm went to watch same nephew play in school cup match, also cricket,....evening enrolled in a college where i start tomorrow with various computer studies...another lateish supper, but got to bed around midnight....this morning wrote report on another cricket match that same nephew played in last night ( i missed it but had the score book to work from), sent it off to local newspaper and incorporated it into part of next assignment.Just had power nap ( much needed )...taking dog up to the heath again just now...Brother in law arriving from europe this evening with colleague for supper....no doubt lots more wine.
Start college tomorrow for the morning...friends deli/ coffee shop pm for lunch....gonna try and chill tomorrow evening,....visiting family member on friday morning although i will of been up early doing some work for a few hours first...no plans for the weekend ...barbys if the weather is good...who knows, will go with the flow.

I need another nap now....lol

God, you sound about as bad as me, not enough hours in the day!!! Your nephew is def into his cricket hey!!! My son is into football big time.

Climate changes are no good for you at all, i went to tenerfie back in feb, snowing here, than i was sunbathing out there, got a cold while i was away, just due to the weather, (cant blame dink here) lol smiley - biggrin

Good luck with the college course, what college are you going to, if you dont mind me asking?

i think he used to be into football (my main sport in the past) but these days it is kind of dictated by the schools he goes to which play Cricket and rugby....he just seems to have good eye to ball co-ordination no matter what he plays.

I am going to some place called Nescot college, starting at 9am this morning....feeling a bit knackered though....same nephew is away on a school sailing trip so i had to help his mum do his paper-round this morning....don't laugh....lol......still a bit wobbly from last night too!!... i hope no-one saw me.
Must dash....catch you later

Paper round mmmmmmmm, very good too!!!

God your nephew is very sporty, I used to sail all the time when i was younger, really miss it, used to sail, row and canoe twice a week for years, and i also took part in the Mini Tall Ships Race about 12 yrs ago, one of the BEST experiences in my life. Really miss it, so if he sails on a reg basis, and ever gets the opportunity to do the Tall Ships, really encourage him to do it, he will have the time of his life, it is a huge race, ususally around Europe, when i did it, we sailed from Holland back to Britain, was supposed to do it the following yr, but didnt get the money together, and i beleive we would have been near Russia, but they do this race every year, real experience to have!!!

Well good luck at college, and enjoy!!!

college seemed to go well enough...to be honest i am going to breeze through a lot of the basic stuff, although i have never had any tuition, i have been whizzing around on my coputer for four years now and it seems i know more than i realise.

I did some sailing in the past, but not so much, i remember i was on a 24 hour sail boat race once which knackered me, at the end of it i fell asleep on some nice soft fibre glass!!!....my intro to the stuff..lol, it kind of put me off boathouses i guess.

Life is all about the experience though, don't you think? Whatever it may be...sailing round the world...climbing Mt Everest...or just doing something that is special to you. The journey is surely far more important than the result.

I will tell him about the tall ships race, maybe he knows as his grandad is a big sailor. He maintains one of the old flagship boats for the dunkirk run, and also crews for a guy who fetches luxury yachts from various parts of the world when their owners have finished holidaying.

Oh god, what i would give just to go sailing again, miss it soooooo much smiley - blue but its such an expensive hobby, really hope that my son gets into it one day, than i can tag along to help out, bliss. It would be such a hardship, not smiley - biggrin

At least you will find the college course easy enough than, i sent all my forms of this afternoon, so with any luck, will get the interview for it soon. The college is really taking its time to come up with the part-time applications though smiley - groan but hopefully i will get on it this year, and not in the yr 3000, which looks more likely at the mo smiley - smiley

So how was your weekend than? Hope you had a good one, mine was pretty hectic, but good!!! No hangovers either, which was a real relief!!! smiley - biggrin

I am sure that if you want the sailing bad enough it will happen for you, i am a great believer in positive thought. How old is your son?,maybe you should get him to join the sea cadets or something.

Good luck with the college interview.

The weekend was cool...also no real hangovers but a little bit liquidy. An afternoon garden party on saturday which was nice...i bailed out of a black tie ball on saturday ( not my scene) and minded the boys instead (i am now proclaimed pasta cooking champ)also two sixteen year old girls (scary stuff....i would rather face a herd of charging wild elephants than have my own!!!!). Sunday morning saw us watching cricket again and a few beers in the clubhouse..a late lunch in the garden and then i got roped into tennis ( not such a lekker idea on beer and so much sun!!) Good fun though.

Now this week into the courses and college for a couple of hours a day. Oh yes, i almost forgot...best part of the weekend...watching England thump SA in the one day game....and of course watching a bit of tennis in between everything.

How is the week looking for you....i just cannot see a respite....lol

My son is 7, and yeah, when he is older i am going to get him into Sea Cadets, see i used to be in the Sea Rangers, so hence all the sailing etc.... Thats where i am going to hope i will be able to help out !!!! smiley - biggrin

Black tie do, very nice, not my scene but think they are great to go to once in a while, love getting all dressed up!!! smiley - biggrin

Tennis, not really into that sport, think we are doing well though???

Today, i have paid all my bills, done my food shopping, and finally went to the bank and started a pension, about time as well!!! Tom, just house-work, nothing else planned, actually ive got a really quiet week, Thursday, work, than couple of mates MIGHT be popping round in the evening, Fri i have either got my pizza and video night with my son, or my ex is coming round, if he comes round, than pizza and video night will be Sat. So yeah, quiet really, how bout you? And do you have any kids, or just spend your time running around after everyone elses???

I guess that seven years old is probably a lovly age for mums anyway...Thats a question? When will he be old enough for the sea cadets? and what exactly are the sea rangers?, i have never heard of them before.

I suppose i am the same really, always nice to get dressed up occasionally, althouh i am more comfortable in casual gear.As for Black tie affairs....well it is all down to who you go with really....i guess, what i don't like about them is that too often (not that i go to many) people are somehow not themselves.

Tennis is not my sport either, but i always take an interest in Wimbledon. We are not doing well at all, apart from henman every other english player was knocked out in the first round. Henman is doing ok though, in fact he has just started to play his fourth round game which i am going to watch when i finish this.

I don't have any kids of my own. One of my motivations for coming back to england for a while was to be able to spend time with my nephews and nieces who are growing up far too quickly. I also have another one of each who are just going out into the world so to speak...19 and 22, i pretty much missed tham growing up altogether so i am hoping to get to know them a little.

A night in with your boy having pizza and videos sound brilliant, although i have no real desire to have kids i do realise that i miss out on a lot of things.

A fairly busy week ahead, although so far i have managed to get in a couple of early nights after reasonably full days. lots of course work to do, a few hours more at college this week plus a particular workshop. visiting my old aunt on friday pm, out for dinner on friday and two partys on saturday night.Cricket on sunday morning, a barby on sunday afternoon, and then one of the boys school class are coming here for their last time together on monday for another barby before they all go off to their various 'big' schools. mind you...that could be a good time to go to college.....lol

Ok...i'm off to watch Henman
