A news story here just now about a Canadian Midwife instructing local Midwives in rural Iraq.

Hi you

Meg

Sorry, I had to see a few patients. Nice to hear about the Canadian Midwife. We do like to share our skills. There's a big international midwifery conference in Paris next week. I'd love to attend but funds are a bit short with the wedding looming. I went to Tenessee last year to meet other Madwives (that's what we're lovingly known as!). We're passionate about our work but can be rather fierce.

What's the difference between a midwife and a bulldog?

Hi you

Post 109

Meg

have you had supper now? Hope it was good. Canteen food here isn't bad. I had stuffed peppers tonight. Not as good as the chilli before work though. Have you got plans for the weekend?

Oh yes, I've eaten...made a rather interesting meal: potaoes, okra & parsnips in a tinned pumpkin pie filling (spiced with garlic, oregano & basil), & some spicy Chorizo sausage, was very good...an improvised triumph!

Not really any major plans for the weekend, except music at the club Fri & Sat.

What an interesting meal. Most of my best dishes are improvised. One of my best is a hot bean stew that I invented when I was a student as it is cheap to make. Don't get much time for invention now but haven't resorted to readymeals yetsmiley - yuk

Sometimes I get very spontaneously creative & whip up a great (although maybe a little odd) meal in 45 minutes. I do cheat a bit sometimes though, like adding frozen veggies & so on.

Hi you

Meg

Oh yeah, we all do use the convenience stuff now and again. It just always suprises me when people don't cook at all. It's very easy not to, but where's the fun in putting something in the microwave each day?

Oh, thats for sure! Lunch at McDonald's, supper at Pizza Hut or Kentuck Fried Chicken, or whatever...who could live that way, not me! My Dad was a smiley - chef I just grew up thinking "you cook/fix it yourself'.

Hi you
