Meg

I wish there was a cause for my smiley - blue periods but I think it's just part of me. I feel bad because I've got nothing to feel bad about. This probably sounds like self-indulgent depression but it's not. I get periods when I just feel awful. Can't get to sleep or stay asleep for longer than 4hours, loads of awful nightmaressmiley - monster all leading to daytime grumpiness. My physical health suffers as I don't eat properly. I have developed a stress-induced skin condition on my hands and feet. I can barely speak to people for fear of saying the wrong thing, so avoid contact (even stop answering door or telephone). It gets really hard to speak as I can't find the right words. Noises become really loud and I startle easily. At it's worst I've been unable to get out of bed or speak as I've felt so dreadfulsmiley - cry
There seems to be nothing that triggers an attack, I've no idea how long it will last or what will make it go. I usually end up trying to act normal and continue with my usual activities and no one usually notices unless it gets too scareysmiley - ghost
Glad to say that I seem to be getting better these last couple of weeks and haven't had time off work. The only thing still lingering is the disturbed nights (and days if I'm on nights). I think my body is telling me to not do nights anymore. Thanks for listeningsmiley - rainbow

are the neices good though? What ages are they? Being girls they're either at the talking non-stop age or the don't talk at all age.

Oh, they're wonderful girls! My brother & his wife have really done a great job raising them. They're very well behaved, so I'd have to say more at the first stage (talking non-stop). The oldest'll be 13 in late July, her sister's also going to be 13 (I believe) in early Sept. & the youngest was 8 in Feb.

They sound charming. I am one of three girls and we always squabbled. I get on with them better now we've grown up. My own daughter is 9 and is a real angel. My son on the other hand is totally different (although just as loveable).

Hi you

Meg

hello again.
Had a good day?
Mine has been ok (although mundane, but that's much better than feelingsmiley - blue).

Feeling really good actually, but rather tired as it's the end of my shift soon. I am back tonight for some overtime though.

Ah ok, I was just sendin' some e-mail...sorry 'bout the abscence. Feeling quite good myself, had nice weather today.

Hi you

Post 55

Meg

hello again. Glad your weather's improving. I'm doing an overtime shift (not being paid at a better rate, just doing a favour for the boss). I'm on holiday from my other job and didn't have any real plans for the next couple of days really.
My daughter has a day off school tomorrow and we're going to visit my Father and go shopping. Friday I had earmarked as "my day" to browse the shops, and hang out in a nice tea shop but my partner has other plans. We are having lunch with his parents, which I'm sure will be nice but not how I wanted to spend "my day". It shouldn't be a big deal but I never do things for me and am sure this contributes to mysmiley - blue periods. I am trying to be nice to me, and end up upsetting my partner and feeling bad. I'm sure we can reach a compromise.
What will you be doing this week?

I tend to do the same kind of thing meg...I don't always do enough for 'me'.

I'll be going in to fold laundry & help out for a couple hours at a support center for young Moms here...a bit like a Day Care really. Its in one section of a school so the Moms can finish their school, & have the little one just down the hall. They have a website you can check sometime, its http://www.terraassociation.com . Then Fri. afternoon I'm goin' shopping with a handicapped mate thats got Cerebral Palsey, he's in one of those electric wheelchairs. Then Fri. evening I'll be doing my regular thing at the Jazz & Blues club, fixin' 'finger food' like microwave popcorn - I'll be doin' that Sat. night too.

Goodness you are busy doing lots for other people. The jazz and blues club souns good. I really miss going out in the evenings. During the week I work at night and at the wekends it's hard to get a babysitter. I think that's why I love festivals so much. We used to drop the children at their grandparents house and escape for a weekend. The last two years we've taken the children with us and they've loved it. This year we were hoping to escape without the children again but our favourite festival, Glastonbury, sold all it's tickets in 24hrs of going on sale. We missed out. Hopefully we'll find another good festival as I love music and dancing.

Best of luck finding another one...they are great fun, I undestand the U.k> has a few good festivals.

Yes they're brilliant but are getting too popular=too many people=inflated prices and no tickets. Glatonbury is the best I've been to. This year it costs £100 for 3 nights camping and 24hrs a day entertainment. We love the acoustic music tent, comedy tent, thatre and circus tents. Not forgetting the importantsmiley - aletents. there is a briliant field full of children's entertainmentsmiley - jester(children go free) and cinema screens. What I also love is the "green fields" where you can have a massage, try yoga or meditation amongst other things. The atmosphere is always really friendly and I like to imagine that this is real life and outside the festival is just a bad dreamsmiley - wow. Brilliant escapism.
