Hi you
Meg Posted Apr 14, 2003
Hello, I'm back at work again. Time is accelerating as I get older!. It's Tuesday 00:25hrs (GMT) and I'm attempting to stay awake for the duration of my nightshift. Made more difficult than usual as my children are on holiday from school, and are (very nicely) demanding to be entertained. So it's lots of and for me tonight.

Hello meg ! How was your weekend?
It certainly does seem that way...that time accelerates as we get older, or at least it seems to pass quicker. The time zone I'm in is GMT+7, I'm not exactly sure right now what that is on the 24 hour clock, but it's about 6:15pm right now.
Yes, I can certainly sympathize with you, about the demanding children. Some kids're more demanding than others.
Hi you
Meg Posted Apr 15, 2003
the weekend I can't quite remember. Combination of lots of drinking , sleeping and a dollop of depression. Feeling better now though. No time for wallowing in self pity with young-uns to raise.
I agree that some children are worse than others and luckily I seem to have two of the best.
How's your week been?

Hope the depression was nothing too serious! Do you have much of a problem with that? Glad you're feeling better though.
Its a relief that you've got such good kids, I'm sure that makes things more bearable.
Actually things have been going well, meg. I actually did a bit of drinking too on fri. night, did some cleaning up on sat., & some laundry sun. afternoon.

I'm lucky that my blues aren't too severe. Your enquiry about my weekend prompted me to write my first journal entry though. I sat and pondered about why I could remember very little about the weekend and it occured to me that there have been these gaps in my memory throughout my life. Luckily my partner helps me to laugh at my swiss-cheese brain. I'm going for a now with some nice home-made Indian sweets that a kind colleague has given me. I always feel much better after something sweet. Glad to hear that your week has been uneventful too, makes me feel that I'm not the only one not painting the town red at the weekend.

Really enjoy some of those East Indian sweets! We have a sizeable Indian community here & I really enjoy finding fresh or more exotic interesting ingredients in the large grocery stores. And sometimemes the owners even make fresh items, about a year ago, my cousin & I were in one of the stores just in time to get freshly made Roti. And there's actually a restaurant that also has a fair-sized sweets section.
Hi you
Meg Posted Apr 15, 2003
don't know what these sweets are called but they're made from flour and syrup which is poured into hot fat, forming lovely lace-like patterns. They taste like pancakes covered in syrup yum yum. I've eaten three of them all ready. Not for the consumption of those on a diet tee hee.

Oh, I love those, if they're what I think they are...are they kind of a bright orange colour?
Hi you
jaz'd(ace & yada yada *sigh* chocolate yada) Posted Apr 15, 2003
I'm not sure of the exact spelling, but they're called Jaleebee...& I'm pretty much hooked on them !
Hi you

In any case meg, I'm calling it a night...or actually an extremely early morning catch you later alright!
Hi you
Meg Posted Apr 15, 2003
You're right, they are orange in colour and very yummy
I've still got at least 5 of them to eat as I forgot to take them home with me today.
Hope you wake up to a lovely day today. Our weather was fantastic so I've been told (I was of course asleep).

Actually meg, we got about 1/2 an inch of snow last night & its a bit cooler today... our typical "one step forward, two steps back" weather, just have to keep repeating 'spring IS coming, spring IS coming...'.
Hi you
Meg Posted Apr 15, 2003
I'm munching jaleebees as I type (hope the keyboard doesn't get too sticky). You'll think I'm food obsessed soon. Not really, but it is one of my greatest passions. I love cooking too but don't have the time to experiment like I used to. When does your spring usually start? ours is a little unpredictable weather-wise but it usually gets better from April. I'll have to get on with some work soon as I have medical appointments to send. Oh yes, it;s thrill a minute here
Hi you
jaz'd(ace & yada yada *sigh* chocolate yada) Posted Apr 15, 2003
Usually weathers quite nice about now, its been very unpredictable the last few years. The last really 'normal' winter (for this region) that I remember was in the mid-80's .
Hi you
jaz'd(ace & yada yada *sigh* chocolate yada) Posted Apr 15, 2003
I mean, they've very gradually been changing since then...it's really been noticable the past few years.
Hi you
Meg Posted Apr 16, 2003
Strange, but not unexpected as we've had more unpredictable weather too. Might be to do with how we're treating the earth!
Anyway, I've been gone a while as I've had my mealbreak and have seen quite a few patients tonight. Four within the last half hour. All this excitement and I still have the pleasure of sending out appointments ahead of me
Not a wasted night though as I've visited several personal spaces and may get the courage to say hello to them soon.
At least my midwifery job is more exciting than this. That's what I do for work on Wednesday and Thursday nights.
