Evening CG: have you considered that all those people were there to see you and not the exhibition? I hope you haven't disappointed your adoring public?

South Ken will be teeming with sad parents, explaining to their weeping children why they couldn't get to see CG even though they'd come all that way just to see her. I do hope the streets aren't bloked with angry hoi-polloi if I decide to go to the Paper Tiger tonight.

Ha - good choice PP - I havn't been there since it opened well over 20 years ago! Don't worry about the adoring fans - they'll be tucked up in their beds by then.

Well, if you ever feel like roughing it (and risking those steep steps) it remains friendly and great VFM: it's one of those place I like going on my own with a book when Mrs P is away.

Evening PP and CG
Ingerlaaand! Twoooniil!
Sorry - I just had to get that out of my system
So you got back to the Big City okay then, CG?
I changed all my clocks this morning. I've missed the start of two films already today...

Evening Mr Love Gloves. Is 'Magnolia' worth watching (especially as it doesn't finish until after midnight and we lose an hour tonight)?
I answered your qn re US radio call names on QQ: might have been a bit too long winded though (DDT described it as 'full', and I'm not sure whether she was telling me off).

Hello Peeto - The Edge is on tonight - too late for me - and I have the vid. but if you havn't seen it you might want to video it.
I'm playing war games with PP on MC - come and join us.

akira100 Posted Mar 29, 2003
Righto - over to MC I go..
Magnolia - excellent film. Julianne Moore, brilliant as always (btw where was the Oscar? She wuz robbed) Tom Cruise, best role for years (although that's not saying much - Eyes Wide Shut??), the great William H Macy (say no more) even Philip Seymour Hoffman who I don't normally like...and I have mentioned Jason Robards (In his last film, I think)and John C Reilly. Watch it, PP, and enjoy (It's got a woderful ending...so stay up)
The Edge is better than it sounds on paper. The plot is very silly but the combination of Anthony Hopkins with one of my favourite actors - Alec Baldwin - is worth watching. And the bear is good and it's even worth watching for the scenery!

On that recommendation, I'll definitely watch it (and tape 'The Edge' I think: hasn't it got a David Mamet screenplay).
I'll be off soon: take care both: talk to you tomorrow.

V Max - IT Numpty, 1st Class. Posted Mar 29, 2003
Hello all,
Saturday, 20:00 pm in the evening (before the clocks change). I sneeked off to my "office" (OK, the front bedroom) to write a sneaky mother's day card from my baby son to my wife, thought I might as well check my e-mail, read what was there (crap), decided to peep at h2g2 and what do I find, a hot-bed of activity! 2-nil, what a lousy flippin' match that was!
Took mini-me swimming this arvo, only to find the baby-pool closed 'cos someone had thrown up in it, D'oh!
I may have to go and strangle a badger, for therapeutic reasons...
Later...

Strangle one for me, Max; I've run out of valium and you never know, it might just work....

Well I'm a bit disappointed I must say - I disappear for a couple of days and NO-ONE has posted any recipies, household hints or even any hot gossip. Oh well - I expect everyone's just too busy spring cleaning. Mind you - I always thought that idea's a bit excessive - I mean whose house needs cleaning every year?

The Magster Posted Apr 1, 2003
Oops sorry Hazel, we have sort of let the side down. You clean your house once a year! Wow, we moved in this house two years ago and I still haven't got the vacuum cleaner out of the box it was packed in at the old place yet. Am I getting slack do you think? After Sarnia's story of having her kitchen bin plus contents delivered from the US, I am sort of hesitating. What if the contents of the whirly plastic container thingmegig have bred or multiplied. Urgghh, doesn't bear thinkng about. We only left the old house because we had been there nine years and I hadn't cleaned that one. When it came around to spring cleaning I thought, why not buy another house instead, saves all the bother. There you go, handy tip, don't spring clean, buy a clean house instead. Gosh, my quick wittedness astounds me at times.
Anyway Hazel, where have you been...enjoying yourself with your toyboy lover perchance?

"enjoying yourself with your toy boy lover"?
Is this true hazel? Come on, spill the beans (I thought you'd just got bored and left).
Oh, and while you're spilling the beans, what does your nom de plume represent?

wysiwyger Posted Apr 2, 2003
Hi Magster, Pat,
spill the beans? Now, who would clean up if I did that? WYSIWYG is (quite old) computer speak for "what you see is what you get". I wanted to leave it at that - but some-one had already registered it, so had to add the "ER" as in "the person who" - not as in Her Madge.
I missed Sarnia's post about packing the full bin - now that's the sort of slovenliness I can really admire!
Great idea about buying a new house instead of cleaning. Maybe I'll just pop round to the estate agents...

It's just as well as didn't pour out all my deep, dark, murky secrets isn't it?
