Just home from the madness that is the supermarket on New Year's eve ... but had to get some langostines for a special pizza I'm making this afternoon.

No special plans, just going to take things easy and drink a little ... am quite sure I'll be asleep long before midnight.

I know - fantastic for Sir Terry . The principal of the special needs school where I am a guvnor also got an MBE, so I'm delighted for her too.

Langoustine pizza???? I just popped into M&S and got their "3 party foods plus a bottle of cava for £10", so we'll be having smoked salmon mousses, garlic cheese bites and some prawn wontons

Actually it'll be a 50/50 pizza. Garlicky langostines & spinach on one side, spicy catalán sausage, onion and mushroom on the other. All topped with mozzerella & goat cheese. I'll take a a photo!

I'm still wrestling with the dilemma, should I cut the long bits of my hair to make it the same length as the shorter bit.

I stopped shaving the sides just over two years ago, so they aren't really THAT short - just six inches shorter than the long bits....

Did they put a trap like the ghostbusters use it to your feet?

Oh, that... That was the thing that went 'bang' and sent a puff of smoke up into the air when I was to make my entrance. It tended to whizz off again a few seconds later (whenever someone or something made a loud noise, as it scraped across the stage!).
