She hasn't brought any mice into the house since I started giving her Whiskas in the evening, but I have found remains of corpses outside .
Like Lua, the last I had, Sadie, wasn't very snuggly either and always cuddled up to me at the vet's. She would sit right on the edge of the examination table and lean against me and hide her head under my arm.

Oh, I know that one! The last times I've had to bring Sunny or Lua to the vet's they ended up on the edge of the the examination table hiding their heads under my usual baggy sweater or shirt while the vet did whatever they had to do. As if, as long as their heads were covered up they felt 'safe'. Poor blossoms!
Touch wood! I have not had to take Azar to the vet's since I had him castrated. I mean - try putting the Tazmanian Devil into a cat cage! So, I hope my luck holds out. Well, with all of them.
I think I mentioned that I have changed from Whiskas to Friskies 'gourmet' paté for Lua. Mostly because the Whiskas gourmet thing wasn't quite enough food for her. The Friskies one is slightly bigger and so I can give her one small tin a day and this seems to satisfy her. Also, she loves it, so what the heck. So I vary it from one day to the next between 'sole and hake' and 'lamb and chicken'. It's still half the price as the Hill's paté.

"Chapter 11" is the "reorganization of a Corporation to make it a viable company again", under the Bankruptcy Code. "Chapter 7" is a company going out of business and its assets liquidated. http://www4.law.cornell.edu/uscode/11/
I always thought it funny that when I worked at Chapters, all the departments had large signs "Chapter 5, Children's books".
My department, Multimedia, was "Chapter 11"... this was particularily hilarious as it was the shoplifing in this department which nearly bankrupted the company.

>Benjamin decided he wanted to go for a ride (if you are from the UK, that has a TOTALLY different meaning, here).<
Actually, going for a ride simply means going for a ride...
Being 'taken for a ride', though, means being conned.

Well, perhaps it is a regional thing.
I have a number of friends from all over the UK and once, whn I was chatting online with them, I said that this guy from work gave me a ride home. They all informed me that "giving soneone a ride" or "going for a ride" meant .... ummmm "having relations" in their parts of the country (Manchester, Liverpool, Scotland.....)
Not that I would have, at all, have minded going for a ride with this guy....
Lua
azahar Posted Apr 29, 2004
I thought the expression was just 'to ride'. But I'm sure Jez will correct me if I'm wrong.
Meanwhile, Lua's nipple has been bleeding big time all day. It had actually been looking okay for awhile. Anyhow, I swabbed her down a few times today (and she totally has the *I get a treat now!* thing down - as soon as I let go of her she waddles off straight into the kitchen and sits by her dish). This tells me she can't be feeling too badly. Also, the nipple has bled before. So I'll wait and see how it is tomorrow. It could just be because she's been licking it too much.
Well, off to bed.

and
to Lua...
I finally got round to phoning Cats Protection today and I asked about a new companion for Charlie.
I totally broke down on the phone to the lovely lady from CP when I was explaining about Jake. It's the first time in about 2 weeks that I have had a
about it. She was very kind to me and said I was doing the right thing and that hopefully I will be able to give as much love to another kitten in need of a loving home as I did with Jake. Such lovely words only made me
more.
I should get a call tomorrow about a home visit to get the ball rolling. Meanwhile I am telling Charlie that he will be getting a new friend and I hope it's the right thing and that he will be OK. I am not sure that he understands what I am on about though! Ah well, at least I tried.

Yes, the bleeding did stop overnight. Perhaps she was just licking it too much. Well, I'll keep an eye on it today and see how it goes.
Lady, that sounds like a great idea. I'm sure Charlie will also enjoy having a mate again.
Here's a cat story for you all:

Cassie is chipped, but I should really get her a tag as well with our phone number on it. As the vet said, not everyone will take a pet to a vet to have the chip read.
It is a Bank Holiday weekend in the UK and the Beeb have thought of something to keep us occupied:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/nature/animals/pets/
I shall be testing Cassie, once she is in the right mood. So it will probably be done in several short sessions.

Just did that test on Charlie - he scored 20. I don't know if that's good or not
I was surprised at some of his reactions though...especially the chair barrier one - he walked straight round immediately!
I think he's quite clever but at times can be sooooo stoopid! Whatever, I him to bits!
