okay, pressed menu and get a blue box with lots of little images on it - it says 'brightness' at the top.
you didn't say if I should change to 120ppp.
why am I doing all this anyhow?

Never mind the 120, what you are looking for is Size and position.

Apparently we are boring Noggin to tears discussing my monitor settings here. And I'm not even sure why we are doing this - you never said *why* it would be better to have the other setting.

Glad to hear you're not dead. Yes I do have buttons on my monitor. But I am all confused about what I am supposed to do with them, and more importantly - why!

Well, never mind. Have been deserted by one and all once again. Getting used to it already.

az, the buttons on your monitor allow you to change the position of your window on the screen, and the size of the border.
But my advice is - leave 'em be.

Az, don't "leave 'em be". Change your screen size as before, then use these to adjust the position so that you are not loosing anything on the sides or the top and bottom.

Listen to Alji! Don't be scared of computers! Even if you are incompetent! As a "young man" who is a whizz with pc's, the only reason I am is that I've been brought up around them and have had a chance to fiddle with virtually every setting I could find. It's the only way to learn...
