Hello you two most adorable men.
I'm back at home for a few days.
The computer is right 'up the spout'. I can do very little with it. This has taken ages to arrive here.
I love you both so much! Thank you so much for your lovely words. I cried the other evening. I was thinking of the little world that is right here. I know we are all strangers really. And I know it is an unreal world(the 'virtual' world). But one comes to feel a human warmth for fellow cyber-friends. We are not just numbers!!! We still have hearts and souls and feelings. And I certainly feel a great deal for my long-term comrades. You have come to mean quite a lot to me!.....
Argh~~I'm getting sentimental over you..........
I pray that you are both well and happy.
's galore to both of you.

And Rick, my dear Poet, I'm so sorry if I worried you with my silly post about the endoscopy. It is a very routine procedure. I shall be thinking of you nontheless. And Folly will too. Enjoy the rest that you will have for a few hours. I loved my last stay in hospital! I was kept in overnight because the general anaesthetic had a strange effect on me! I couldn't wake up!! But I was quite happy there! So, dearest Rick, please don't worry about anything. Whilst you are in hospital, there will be several of us (including your own family) who will be thinking of you.

Gosh and Golly, Polly! How we've missed you! Rikki's slobbery kiss is doubled from this Folderol - I've hunted high and low for something that looks like one. How about (silly) ? 'Cos that's what we all are really.
Anyway, great to have you back and here's hoping that your computer will behave itself.
It's been a lovely day here apart from one or two little showers - quite like April should be - I do hope that means the weather is getting back on an even keel, but I'm afraid it is just another 'glitch' (what a strange word that is?)
It's nearly 11 so I'm off to beddy byes to read my book. It's a Jeffrey Archer. I'm not very keen on the man himself, but he writes such damn good yarns.
Rikki, Polly's right, we are all thinking of you and your op. I'll give you a - don't read anything into it! - it just means I want you to know we care.

Hi Folderol,I suspect Polly's still having problems with her PC,I was given my sons old PC a couple of years ago, that was windows 98 but everything used to take ages on it as it used to go into safe mode or crash, anyway I got myself a new Dell tower with windows vista basic for about £270 about a year ago and although Im only a one finger typist(chicken pecker)it is a lot easier to use this PC than the old one.
Trust all's well with you and yours

Hi Rikki - and Polly, if you've overcome your pc probs.
We're all well, I had a lovely time in the garden midday - gorgeous weather , but now it's gone all wet and is going to be miz for the next few days.
However, I DID see that our nesting box is being used by blue tits. We saw them taking stuff to build a nest a few weeks ago, and now they are taking food in, so it looks like they have young. The box is on a sycamore in the front garden. Out the back on our grandly named 'Bird Feeding Station' (it's one of those wrought iron candelabra type things with nuts and seeds and fat balls) is being regularly frequented by a couple of long tailed tits - they really are endearing little things.
Re pc's, I could do with upgrading mine - I think it's 3 years old - but with such a rubbish broadband situation here, it's not worth it yet. Apparently due to the ancient type of local telephone exchange, we have no hope of getting better than 2 meg - despite all providers talking about 8 meg or better. BT have promised to upgrade the exchange this year which is when things will improve. But they said that last year and the year before!

Hello my dearest Rick and Folly.
Thank you SO much for your lovely words.
I can hardly do a thing on the computer! I can't get my AVG to work, no matter what I try(I haven't a clue what I am doing though!!). I don't understand any of the technical jargon. I'm scared I might click on something and makes things even worse!
I fear it is all my fault. I had to switch off so many times by simply unplugging! Now I've learnt that doing so damages the something-or-others! So I don't know what to do for the best. Collecting my mail takes absolutely ages. I read one, and replied, in the space of about 2hours last night! I'm surprised that I have managed to visit here!
Today was a beautiful Spring day. Everyone seemed to be dressed for summer! I'm a little more cautious.
There are foals appearing in the Forest. I saw what I presume was a day-old foal the other day. It could hardly walk. It was so sweet.
Today, I walked for 3 hours (there and back). The dogs and I paddled in a river-cum-stream in the middle of nowhere (in the Forest). We found a clearing, and I sat against a tree in the sunlight. It was almost magical. There were yellow Brimstone butterflies fluttering around, and the water was softly trickling. There were no ponies, or birds. All was very silent. All that was very needed was a cup of my special tea!
Rick, I'd love to send you a 'don't worry' card~~~but I can't. So I shall just reiterate what I said. That is~~~~enjoy the rest when you go into your local hospital. Close your eyes, and think of, um, us! Yes us!! Or England! I'll be thinking of you. Is it a morning procedure? Obey all that they advise you to do or not to do re: food and drink.
I also had a camera put up inside my nether region (which is far worse), and a barium enema. But that was actually quite OK and totally painless. Phew!
Lots of hugs to both of you.
Polly

Great to hear from you Polly - have you called in a 'little man' yet to look at your pc? It's probably worth it.
Glad it was a nice day for you too. We all used to go camping in the New Forest quite often when the kids were young. Jan's mum lived in Barton on Sea and we camped nearby to be near her without actually being a pain. The campsite we used was called Aldridge Hill and was just outside Brockenhurst.
One year, Ben, my son, and I went paddling up a stream in the nearby wood. A few days after we got home, Ben had contracted impetigo on his face and ear, and I had got ringworm - the doctor said they both more than likely came from the stream. I just thought I had better warn you

Oh crumbs, Folly. I shall take heed of the warning! I'm also now very aware of Ticks, and Lymes disease. And I keep an eye out for Adders! The Forest is a dangerous place!! And then there are the bogs~~everywhere!
Brokenhurst is a lovely place. It is so pretty there~~and great for the train. I do like the places on the edge of the Forest, such a Bealieu and Sway. They are very pretty villages.
I was born at Barton-on-Sea. I can't quite understand why though. And I shall never know now.
I had been hoping that I could mend the computer. But nothing has worked! I might ask my daughter if she or her husband can take a look at it. I DO know that there is no virus.
Do you still do your bit at the school? I know you do a mini-bus run.

Hi Poll. (I love your two little kittens, by the way)
Jan's uncle and aunt still live in Barton. They're in their dotage now, but still try to keep involved in the local art group and Methodist church. We haven't been there for a couple of years but I think Jan has planned a visit to them in the summer. I presume you are inland a bit - I hope so, as I'd hate you to be near the cliff edge: a few years ago a cafe in Barton was closed because it was in danger of sliding down the cliff face as it was crumbling away. It might even have disappeared by now.
I retired from the school last June and, to be honest, haven't been back, save for a Village Remembrance service and a Mothers' Day service - the joint churches hold them in the school hall to get in the numbers. Funny, but, all through my life, whenever I left a job, or in the case of the bank, a branch, and moved on, I never went back. I might phone people there from time to time, but I always stayed away. Life moves forward and although memories are nice, one shouldn't stay in the past. Having said, that, outside work, I am an incurable romantic and my kids get fed up with me saying things like, 'In my day....'

Hi Folderol,"in my day"?
Well in my day
When I was young
There was no such thing
As a bung
The old head
Would give a speech
And morning assembly
We'd all screech
We plough the fields and scatter
But some would only mime
Though we were watched like hawks
Sniggering was a crime
Why was the blackboard so far away
As I would squint my eyes
I never realised I was myopic
Well now there's no suprise
Rikiiboy you been naughty
Go and sit outside the head's study
Well after a few well placed whacks
He certainly were'nt no buddy
Still we came through it all
We never even learnt much
Still I admire my old head
He had a gorrilla's touch.

Hello, dear Rick and Folly.
I happen to live where the traffic is very heavy during the summer. And where it is known as 'The Heart Of The Forest'.
I agree with you, Folly, that life moves on. But being an utter romantic, there are some things that I cannot let go of~~~some people and places. I'll never forget the friends that I have made here. That is~the dear friendships that have stood the test of a little time. Nor can I ever forget the picnics that my fiance and I shared. Those particular places EG the Badbury Rings road, are so very very special to me. I see the ghosts of yesterday every time I walk or travel along that road. I shan't forget, for a long time, all the poems that you Rick have composed. I treasure all that is special in my heart. I always have done. My life has changed utterly in the last few years, but my special memories are STILL my special memories. They won't fade with time.......
I had a wonderful walk along the Beaulieu river today. I expect that you know it, Folly. I shall be walking in Dorset next week. Ah bliss!
Rick, dear Rick, I hope you are feeling as well as possible. I'm having big problems with my diverticulitis at the moment.
Hugs to both of you.
Polly

Thanks for that, Rikki - it did evoke some memories - not all of them good - of school days - smoking in the stables (They were converted into toilets), being caned by the head - for smoking - he used to take a bit of a run up to thwack you. Nipping out at lunchtime down to the local chippy (anything was better than school dinners - butter beans! yeurk), getting the bus to the games field - it was a 20 minute ride from the school. Standing on the railway bridge to watch the steam trains go through - the bridge would be enveloped in steam - and the smell! So evocative.

Sorry, Rikki and Polly, our paths crossed!
Beaulieu river - I do remember it, but I don't recall whether Bucklers' Hard is on that river or another part of the waterways around there. We took our kids to the Hard once, such a magical place and it really evokes life as it was for the shipwrights anmd their workers.
I had the afternoon off and went round the corner from our house and up the track to the windmill. Our village windmill is quite famous in Bedfordshire - a fairly old poat mill, it has recently been completed renovated and was actually working last year - the flour milled was sold off but turned out to be unusable! They're going to have another go this autumn - I missed it last time so I must see it this year - a windmill in full sail - what a magnificent sight.
I took some photos of the windmill with an interesting blue and cloudy sky and surrounding by bright yellow rape fields - quite pleased with the photos.
But now, I'm off to bed
Night night all - sleep well.

Goodnight, Folly.
Have a splendid day tomorrow. I'm off to Lymers in the morning to meet an old friend who is here from Canada. I'm hoping that the weather stays sunny and warm. We will be doing a coastal walk, and then a pub lunch (maybe on the Cobbles).
