clare Posted Dec 1, 2012
I am clare the clear; clearly I am clare.
I am also calm and happy as a clam.
Ohhh noooo, now I'm sad.
Someone said that I am bad.
I'm sad and bad and not so glad.
It's so close to Christmas.

Eau de clare de luna
Sir la pont d'Avignon
Did you notice the full moon
as it cycles in its track?
Soon the solstice will be here
and the light will all come back.

Shall I compare you to a midsummer's day?
For you fill my heart with the warmth of your compassion
when feeling lonely, sad and overcome with dismay
with life when I have lost all my enthusiasm and passion.

In the centre of the ring stood a green frog they called Densil
Densil was a frog of extreme mood roundabouts, and swings
When he was good everybody would want to hug him
When he was bad, Piere lightly fried him, with butter in a pan

I woke this morning to a lovely snowy day.
The sun was shining and the sky was clear.
The birds were singing and everything was parfait
which filled me with hope when I supped on my beer.

the sun shines on the oak tree
as it has done a few thousand times last count
the bare tree shrugs and waits patiently in the centre of a ploughed field
a great heart-shape cut into it's trunk
one lazy summer, by a lover to impress
fully clothed the giant tree looked downd it's nose at the pair
chuckled as they stripped thier vests
and underneath the red tartan picnic blanket
a british warrior's treasure trove,
stashed the day he rode to fight Ceasars legions
never to return, to this sun sheltered spot
four generations of mighty oak ago

Some nice resonances there!
Cultural, historical, agricultural,
sexual, sartorial, epicurial, oral...
"of mighty oak ago"

when i was young
i often stung
with a word or with stone
now full of learning
from trials and yearnings
a twisted little oak
i've grown

pebblederook-The old guy wearing surfer beads- what does he think he looks like? Posted Dec 17, 2012
(.. a sad lament from the civilised world to the United States..]
I need to buy a bigger gun,
I've seen the one my neighbour has.
He bought it after seeing the big gun,
I bought last month.
Which I bought because he had,
A bigger gun than me.
God bless America,
And suffer the little children.

Big guns had their time
Defending the lone homestead
When your children and your wife
Did not have a phone or internet
Times and people change
Some call it progress
Call it what you will
Life has forever been sacred!

I am the captain of a bathtub, which courses the Irish sea
I live with the constant fear of drowning, for last year i lost the plug
There is nothing like lying in the bath for 3 weeks at a time
I am not a land lubber, i have my number one who is small yellow made of rubber
Life is sweet sailing the high seas in a cast iron tub with a cute little duck

I dream of a world free far from war and strife.
I dream of a world covered in chocolate ice cream.
I dream of a world where the top job is being a midwife.
I dream of a world where unconditional love is the theme.

dreams are best which translate well
from elvish, gnomespeak and Urdu
dreamt at night they disapear
but well thought out dreams can live
live with a gasp of first air
and from anothers lips a first cry appear

dream on!
dreams do not pong
will not induce head pain
can't be seen from the plain
are undetected by radar
thankfully won't steal your car
surely not radioactive
have never spread a virus
never given anyone a nasty pinch
They dont bite
dream on!

Tis too long to go without post
Has all been scared by a
Fear not
For tis safe to write what does please
So long as it’s not full of sleaze
Bad Poetry
myk Posted Mar 19, 2013
can you write sleaze with ease
for six thousand posts or more
if i tried i'm sure i'd fail
but with duff verse i wipe the floor!
Bad Poetry
winternights Posted Mar 19, 2013
Write more duff verse for all to see
Surely it's not such a calamity
Though you must now have a mucky floor
If it's only cleaned by your latest score
