See the pretty snowfakes
Falling from the sky;
On the wall and housetops
Soft and thick they lie.

On the window ledges,
On the branches bare;
Now how fast they gather,
Filling all the air.

Look into the garden,
Where the grass was green;
Covered by the snowflakes,
Not a blade is seen.

Now the bare black bushes
All look soft and white,
Every twig is laden, --
What a pretty sight!

Poverty is pitiful, it sucks real bad.
I think of all the greatest things,
The things I never had.
I think I'll go and rob a bank,
Or steal somebody's purse,
'cause poverty's a bloomin' curse,
And I don't know how to end this verse;
Poor brain of mine, its drawn a ruddy blank!

Next perhaps? Being rich!

Silk pajamas, parquet floors,
Cadillacs, and petits-fours,
Those are all the things I see,
Since I won the lottery.

In case I am marooned on a desert island,
I'll equip myself with twine, a Swiss army knife,
And Ray Mears.
I'll bring blankets, sandals,
And a man with soft voice and Spanish guitar
Who'll strum in the moonlight and croon sad songs,
And a woman with quiet smile who can read rocks, track birds.
We'll toast marshmallows in the fire.
We'll climb to the volcano's lip, fear plummeting,
Discover a new species of wasp
And never tell the world.
We'll swim the phosphorescent waters,
Laugh, fight. Get stung by weaverfish.
Get stung by love.

I go on cruises,
Dream that my ship will founder.

Alphabetic verse.

A poem can be written about most things
Beautiful ladies immortalised for ever
Caresses under a star lit night
Deeds of the hero wrote down in verse
Eternal prose entwining forbidden love
Familiar themes reworked over time
Gallant knights riding to the rescue
Heavenly angels descend from above
I worship her silently from afar
Journeys written from memories long ago
Kings and Queens have all been in rhyme
Lovers embraced in each others arms
Messages wrote from the battle front
Natures creatures forever remembered
Odes and poems the subjects are endless
Passion and love rule the stroke of the quill
Quiet solitude respects ones so dear
Remember in verse our childhood days
Simple words but the power they hold
True feelings expressed where one can not speak
Unending love like Romeo and Juliet
Valour and chivalry for a maiden so fair
Words wrote by man for peace in the world
X-rays rarely get used in rhyme
Yesterdays dreams and tomorrows future
Zoologists and poems could have a hard time also

Helena Bonham-Carter.

O Helena!
How fine you are,
What succour for my eyes!
I love the way
You bounce and play,
I love your languid sighs.

O Helena
The movie star
With talents to impress,
I love your skill--
But better still,
I love your low-cut dress.

We all hear voices in our head
Some are living: most are dead,
Still striving to control us

Some tiptoe for the odd small outing
Others are nearly always shouting,
Still striving to control us.

To touch a void.

A short ride, away from the city noise.
To stand alone, eyes to the night sky.
Can't put down a foot, without someone owning the earth beneath my feet.
Even the air I breath, has been used.
Looking at the ultimate void around us,
to touch a piece of it and say Mine!,
before any other living creature.
Don't believe in heaven, but would accept a lift out there!.
One of those dots of light, calling me,"land on me, you'll be the first".
My thoughts reach out to the vastness, one day, I will go and collect them.
They are ageless and will wait.
Only I can claim them,
so keep your land, I am already rich.
For I have touched the void.

It sat untouched for half a year,
Evaporating, maximal.

Don't need fame to be noticed,
my friends do that for me.
Although I'd like lots of money,
so distant friends I could go see.

Ants are very tiny,
But the eleph-ant is huge.
The ant sailed on the briny,
The elephant rode the luge.
Ants are not good on water
And it drownded very quick.
The eleph-ant did not like the luge,
And was very, hugely, sick!

I once asked a mountaineer,
What was the peak of his career?
He thought i was being cynical
As his career was past it's pinnacle.
The highest point that he achieved,
And,if he is to be believed,
Was an unknown tor in Katmandu.
I don't believe it,nor should you.

Vertigo is a sensation of giddiness and loss of balance, many people suffer this when they are high up,as,standing on a cliff or a high building. You would not make a good mountaineer if you suffered from it.smiley - ok
