for that Prof; i'll show it to P....though he seems to feel the direct thing of just extending the cable from main building where mine is into his 'hut' is the simplest option, just a question of getting more cable.
The place is basically a main cottage, a barn & woodshed between, his hut & he's been "getting a Round Tuit" for years, so the phone rings in both places, can use computer in either etc; so me nagging has maybe finally resulted in him doing it! We've both got laptops, so it isn't difficult to haul them around.
We are continuing work on the porch in between the two parts of the 'livable in' building bits, so it is a good time to put new cable connexions in; hopefully that might make things less complicated...however, it's actually quite good fun to chat via gmail when only a door separates us!!!!
Hey, JEllen, sorry we couldn't work out how to do a 3 way convo, hope you slept well, on Wednesday.

Terri, with long length phone cable to router/PC and long cable to another PC, all that distance cuts the speed down

We don't have a router, just the cable thingy...might be best to email me with technical stuff, since i am useless at it. P is a bit better,he's an electrician & also uses computer for business stuff, so i could let him have a look then.

Hi Terri! I can't help you with technical cable stuff ...
Anyways what you said about friends earlier and family earlier. I'm a bit in the opposite situation. I have few real friends over here ... and it's only my family who've been really giving me support. I don't have any 'real life' friends who know about my problems and struggles and so on, it's only my close family.
And then also there are my friends whom I've met online or in other ways that I'm corresponding with through the internet. Some of them are quite close even though I've never met them!
Speaking of that ... can you please get your email address to me somehow ...?

Hi Terri friends are just as important as family and my cousin would invited friends over for a musical evening when they had singing and playing of various instruments.

Hiya all.
Willem, i lost your email addy when the last time my Beast crashed on me; mine is still zendevil3 but now at gmail Dot com, not wanadoo.
Busy day today, V (P's grown up son) & his GF F arrived, lovely to see them again....i don't know whether they count as friends or family really by now? Friends; definitely, family by adoption i suppose!
Anyone else got stepchildren? (Not necessarily via an actual marriage: ie: piece of legal paper)...if so, how do you get on?

No stepchildren, but step grandkids and great grandkids and I'm a step-daughter.
I get on very well with all. After Great Granny W died, we asked Pa to move up to the North so that if anything happens to him, we're on the spot.
The daughter is married to a man months younger than me & that's where the step great grandkids come in. Unfortunately they live a little bit too far away to see on a regular basis, but I'm very fond of them.

Just popping by to say hi, Terri. I've been really busy at work and then evenings and weekends we've been doing a fair bit of house hunting. We may have found one or two we Really, Really Like...

My R has two children, 27 and 30 years old. I've only met the 27 y.o., and he's very nice, but shy and we don't meet often. The 30 y.o. lives in Paris, so I've not met her yet. But a funny thing is that R is quite a bit older than I am, so his new (almost) inlaws - my parents - are actually both younger than himself!
R really seems to like my kids, which is a huge relief. And they like him too, infact M has been known to contact him when he misses R too much!

Adopted a wolf, great! I adopted a puffin once; believe it or not & one year i sent all my fiends an adopted duck in their name.
I'm sure tomorrow will be great; Snailrind has arrived & has officially confirmed me & p are most definitely 'off our trolleys' & are thus totally suited to each other; she's lovely!
Didn't do much today other than get new improved modem sharing cable finally set up P...doesn't seem to have slowed down speed so far, showed Snaily the Metropolis of our little town, relaxed & eated, played around on computer, admired Yoda vomiting (she will always find a way to be the centre of attention!)
I'd actually forgotten tomorrow (well, technically today) is my Barfday! Thanks for your best wishes.
zdt*another year older, but still none the wiser*

Happy Birthday Terri
Because today's so special
it really wouldn't do,
to send one simple birthday wish
to last the whole year through...
So this wishes happy moments,
a day when dreams come true,
and a year that's filled with all the things
that mean the most to you.
Hope all that you do
Turns out happy for you
And all that you wish
Comes your way,
So each hour will bring
Every wonderful thing
You could ask of a wonderful day
May your birthday bring
You as much happiness
As you give to everyone
Happy Birthday
