I am tryping this by torchlight at (beleive me) the Universe Hotel; presumably at the end of the Universe; somewhere in Frogland.

Last night westayed at the Norman Bates Hotel with strange noises and whgo by morning evolved into German....P has an uncanny knack for discovering weird placzs to stay; previous ones have include a Totally Gay Hotel in Slovenia and Crutches Hillview Hotel in Oirla&nd

But We Have Yoda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!who is purring behind me even as we squeak, complete with Pet Passport etc & apparently totally un-fazed by yet another adventure.

Spent last night in a forested layby nwith stream; dunked leg in icy stream & you know what? Did not die of thrombosis, leg decreased in size & can now walk again....this has saved hundreds of Euros & unpleasant hospital stuff; my gut instinct all along was R.I.C.E which is Rest; Ice, Compression, Elevation; standard treatment for naughty leg stuff.

Tomorrow we have to be up before crack of dawn (nice girl; Dawn, very obligingund 8hour dri_ve to Dunkirk, then cross UK (Skanky, if you are lurking, we're in your area tomorrow & have van full of and El Cheapo cigs; phone me via P's mobile, which Lil has if there's any chance of mini meet.....that also goes for all of "you lot"; since Yoda seems totally unworried about travelling, means we can take it more easy rather than rushing back. She seems fi_ne with Edda also, great relief!

None of this will make sense by the time you read it, especially since yesterday we picked up a Polish hitchiker & his first words were " Have you ever hea&rd of Douglas Adams?"

Gosh, I wish you and I could chat sometime!! And I need to mail you this drum head, etc, when you land again. I've been saving more odds & ends for cheese box materials.

Despite all the dire predictions; here we are are, all safe & sound, Yoda purring happily on me bed, Geotge Michael on stereo (RIP Michael Jackson); Oirland is nice & , the are fine; Plus have a letter from the Fine Gael MP:

So: with any I may actually get some money, if so, it will be backdated from at least February, so then hopefully we can have a Real Holiday & meet You Lot, rather than rushing around!!!

We have loads of photos of What a long Strange Trip it's been, so if you email me on the gmail addy; can pass them on (only a priveleged few get the video of 'Wouldn't it be Loverly?' with me in a state of undress with mandola on the loo though!) but any amount of nice shiny happy amount of general pix of Europe stuff free for all.

Me & P managed to avoid murdering each other en route & are delighted to be back; we get Fritz back from Hilton Hotel Ireland tomorrow, normal service will be resumed ASAP, no doubt with a few hisses & spits to start with, over 'that is mine' stuff....

Ah, forgot to say, as predicted, we got stopped by Customs, van taken to bits, but since the poor souls found nowt illegal, they had to put it back together again!

My leg is still rather nasty; if it's not sorted after a few days, will embark on yet another Medical career mission i guess , but in general, life is looking good.....what's been happening with the rest of you meanwhile?

Welcome home Terri and good luck and success for your disability payments and I hope your leg will ease up soon.

My sister's has a kitten who apart from doing the odd poo behind the settee is toilet trained. My sister has been trying to find how to stop her kitten from going behind the settee and dropping parcels but has not found anything on the web. Any help there is by email has to be paid for, I wonder if anyone can help me please.

Hmmm...i have heard that they don't like citronella & lavender essential oils; you could try srubbing the area thoughouly then putting a few spots of those around, both of them are also great for repelling nasty biting insects too & are fairly cheap & easily available. (and smell nice, cover up poo odour!)

The only other way is to move cat tray close to settee & gradually move it further away, remove poos immediately, so they don't associate it with going there again.

I have been very lucky with both Yoda & Fritz in that they both use cat tray every time; they now have two, in case they prefer Male & female toilets, but what seems to be happening is both use one for peeing & the other for pooing! I use large washing up bowls, not shallow usual cat litter tray, so it doesn't get scattered everywhere.

Sorry we didn't get to see you Lil & Animal;it was all pretty hectic with deadlines on animal Vet checks, roadworks etc....hopefully we may get a Real Holiday later this year!

The leg is still swollen & red, hurts a lot; went to see GP here who confirms it's an infection Not thrombosis, now on yet another type of antibiotic & told meanwhile to rest it "with unpacking to do?", but generally life back here is much calmer, despite the farm having grown into a jungle in 3 weeks.

I am contemplating introducing zebras, tigers, mambas, ostriches, kangaroos etc & turning the place into a Safari park.

Re: the Disability Benefits; good news is a new law has been passed while we were away; Google EHRC: new ruling extends disability discrimination powers....could be useful for many of us!!!!

So: just trying to settle back in basically; P has done his Solar Infection Reports, moved a friends sofas; i've been mainly unpacking, trying to help with hierarchy, made a curry-; we're just trying to take it easy & do one step at a time.

PC, is Minerva actually biologically Herman's sister? Does she also have wobbly leg stuff?
