Hooray: no-one's taken umbrage. I've been on the edge of my seat for an hour.

Mind you, does anybody else think that the ability to disagree yet still stay buddies shows an unhealthy degree of maturity?

Surreal.

Sarnia, you weren't by any chance referring to us as self-important, pontificating so and sos were you?

You have my absolute agreement. But such is the burden of always being right.

You may, in supplication, kiss my ring,

His Eminence Dr. Strangegloves.

Morning all

You may notice a distink lack of postings from me for the next couple of days. (Cries of "Shame!" "No, never!" and "Whose round is it?")

The reason being, I have just taken delivery of my copy of 'Stupid White Men' and if the rest of the book is as good as the Intro, then I'm gonna enjoy it muchly. smiley - biggrin

So, Doc, prepare for more informed discussions when I've finished it (and look out 5Lite!)

smiley - cheers

peter

LOL Pat and Doc. No, I wasn't referring to you specifically. I tend to have the odd outburst once every few months - the last was to Anthony and I was too scared to look at the boards the next day (until Pat told me on here that he'd had a peek and it was "all clear").

Of course I'll kiss your ring - could you remove it from your nose first though?

I trust your buttocks are not in ill health, V Max? Though Sarnia is going round kisssing rings today, so if you need some medical attention.....

Peter, splendid that you have a copy of SWM. I have to say that some chapters are better than the intro, others are rambles, but the whole book is worthwhile.

Sarnia: "... self-important, pontificating so and so ..." Yep, that'll be me then!

V Max: You appear to be blighted with managing to injure yourself at every opportunity? Didn't you fall over recently or am I thinking of someone else?

Pat: Mature? Hmmm ... Sometimes maybe ...

Peter: No SWM discussions please, I have Maths revision until end of month and then I can read my copy! Thanks. (P.S. Only joking, hope you enjoy it!) I'm taking bets on how fast he finishes it by the way everyone, <24 hours would be favourite I suspect?

Doc: Top thread on "PC" over on on 5Lite MB. Expect avalanche of abuse after my Marxist comment. Hurrah!!

Doc,

Barely a bruise, I fell in 4 inches of soft snow! Just felt like a right prat!

I see Johnston is accusing Bushy of being a traffic warden on "af...". Funny that, since I was theorising that Johnston was a traffic warden just before xmas. Coincidence?

Naahhhh...it's just jealousy. Johnston longs to be a traffic warden, I'm sure...the uniform is sooo much better than his McGurgle Security Ltd one.

Bushy,

I don't remember falling over recently, other than in the snow. If I fall over, its usually alcohol-related. smiley - cheers

Just me then getting my accidents mixed up?

Just been laughing my head off at Ernold Kovacs thread on "af...". Seems to me though that he mistakenly printed two letters from the Daily Mail of last week rather than 50 years ago?

Sarnia

I have that problem sometimes also, Max.

Well, I've taken delivery of a new horse, have hitched him up to my cart and shall begin my rounds shortly (going via Offie to pick up crate of Tattingers).

I'll have that ring Dr., and you might as well chuck me your coat Bushy.

I'll let Peter keep his book but I'm taking Pat's bike.

smiley - cheers

You know who Ernold is don't you Bushy? He's an amalgamation of Emily Bishop's two husbands -: Arnold and Ernest, as I keep reminding him (but I don't think he finds it terribly useful, although he did sign off on one of his posts as Arnest once).

Oi Sarnia, no. If you want a bike, nick Brad's: I don't imagine he's using it at the moment. Oh, and as for Bushy's coat, I sold it yesterday (see MC-H! if you don't believe me).

Can anyone else understand why WH have signed Bowyer? With a 6 match Euro ban under his belt, he'll be unavailable for us in the whole of the first group of Champions League matches next season (ha ha <laughs all the way to Div 1, with a few gratuitous sndings-off and other unpleasantries along the way&gtsmiley - winkeye.

Pat,

RE: Champions League.

I'm not clear on this. Does Bowyer miss the next 6 Champions League matches regardless of who he's playing for (IE: West Ham, who won't be there), or the next 6 he would be eligible to play for in a team that has qualified (IE: If he transferred to Everton smiley - smiley).

Darned snow

Post 1917

He misses the next 6 European matches (in any competition) for which he is available: so if, Darwin forbid, WH don't qualify for Europe this year, but only finish say 7th and don't win the FA cup, he'll miss the first 6 matches when we qualify the year after.

If he transferred to Everton, the ban would be academic because it would never affect him before he retired.

V Max,

I know, it's absolutely extraordinary isn't it? How old do you reckon he is? 9?

PS: Have been meaning to ask for ages: where does your user name come from? I always think of that car mag Max Power or whatever it's called whenever I see your name.
