Good, that gives me more time for re-reading slowly the dance of the voodoo handbag again. Perhaps I join the Ranking-fan club. First I must read more of his books. I'll go for a rummage in my favorite secondhand bookstore on the canal of the city of U. and see if I can obtain more of his work. Alright, I know this is not fair on the wallet of the writer but I cannot afford at the mo to buy spic and span brand new hardback copies of his work. I solemny swear, if I ever get rich (which is very unlikely but then some people claim miracles can occur so I don't give up hope) I stash my bookcase with his hardbacks.
Lately I've been busy reading all kinds of books, most notably about the French Revolution. My knowledge is notoriously and absurdidly obscure about this subject concerning liberty, equality and brotherhood. And I've still got to finish reading Celine's Voyage au bout de la nuit. In French with the aid of a dictionary. Blimey, now here's a good writer as well! Not as good as Rankin, but still ...

I'm thinking of sending the book back to Milla. Does everybody agree?

Cool!
You're not obliged to like the book, but I hope you do. Rankin seems to have gone down well where the Voodoo Handbag has gone so far.
I believe Milla began noting where the book has been and who with on a page, it would be nice to keep that up. You're under no great pressue to find time for the book, you can even share it around a little if you think it'll be appreciated. I really do want to get it around the world but I prepared to bide my time nad get a few more Rankin sales along the way with it.

Ok, Terry, E-mail me your address. I send it to you tomorrow, monday afternoon.
By the way, I had a look in the secondhand bookshop along the canal, like I said I would. Nope, no Robert Rankin books not even hardback ones. He's still quite unknown with the general public overhere.

The Voodoo has arrived safely and is currently living happily in a small cold bathroom (otherwise known as the Reading Room) in South West France.
Where did the badge come from?Would it be a idea to keep the badge & replace it with a different one when we pass it on?
the arrived just in time, i shall take it into hospital with me tomorrow; 'twill cheer me up while they muck about with my leg.

The badge is a Rankin collectable, associated with Robert's most recent published novel 'The Brightonomicon'. However once you've read Voodoo Handbag you should see why I attached it too the book. I'd rather, ... , that it stay with the book.

At the time I was reading Rankin's book someone gave me a little badge saying: "Devil, get behind me!"
I thought of pinning it to the cover of the book as well. Then I changed my mind and pinned it at the pocket of my rucksack It's a good one.
