Ok, apologies for a rather late update. I spoke to Lil just after 7pm this evening, I was getting ready to go out and have only just got back.(time now 00.05hrs.)
She sounded a lot better, very upbeat compared to when I spoke with her last Friday. Does sound as though the anti-biotic treatment is working although she will be in hospital till at least Thurs or Friday.
She sends her love to everyone. I passed on all our good wishes and love.

No apologies for late update. Some of us go to bed at a respectable hour (only if forced to!)

Sorry to hear Lil will be in hospital for so long, but it is better they sort her out before she comes home. Sort her out did I say, I doubt they will manage that

I would like to send her a card. Is there anyone who could collect them all up and deliver? I only have Prof's address, and don't expect people to give out theirs willy nilly.

Spoke to the hospital this morning. Mum was fine. I don't have any more information at the moment and I have a problem with my mobile so I can't even do a sneaky call to mum on her mobile.

I won't be around much today, have college and other errands to do. Added to which I still have a raging toothache, off to dentist tomorrow for some fillings and a crown to be repaired while waiting for an appointment at the Dental Hospital for further reconstructive and other treatment. I have a condition called Licus Planus which isn't responding to treatment and I'm told the "bite" isn't right hence further 're-constructive' work needed.
I'll check in for any further updates later or if I hear direct I'll obviously let folks know.

She's still sore, but cheerful, and missing you all. She sends her love to everyone...

That's the only advantage to coming into the proceedings so late - the worst of the worry is over.

It's not everyone who could report on a poorly mate's predicament with raging toothache, so all hail ST!

update.

had phone call from Lil(7.00pm)tomorrow could be the last day for the drip feed antibiotics, as it's a 5 days course of treatment.

There are 2 antibiotics, as apart from the infected appendix, there is a secondary infection which is so similar they are hard to distinguish between the two.

She is still having pain,which is being controlled by tablets, but overall she is feeling better and still waiting for her appetite to return(hospital food wise cracks not needed ).

She is hoping to be home sometime during next week - this is of course in the hands of the doctors.

Whether by air ambulance, car or crawling - she will be at the Hull meet

As ST, I have informed her on how much she is missed here and again, the best wishes of all her friends that are being sent to her....
